<p>I'm humbly coming to you in a season of need and asking for your help. 
</p>
<p>For a long while now I have been feeling led to get back into the classroom as a teacher. I lost my job of almost 5 years, yet the opportunity arose to apply for a teaching position here in Cleveland teaching Spanish, and possibly guitar and theater! I was offered the position! The good news is that God has already opened the door. — However, the position doesn't start until August, which means my first regular paycheck won't come until September. That leaves me about three months to make ends meet. 
</p>
<p>I've been picking up odd jobs to help cover things, and I'm grateful for every opportunity — but it isn't enough to bridge the gap entirely. Between monthly living expenses and the necessity of transportation (rent, car payment, insurance, phone, groceries, and gas) and getting professional attire ready for the classroom, I need to raise about $4,000 total to make it to that first paycheck. Approximately $1300 a month is needed to cover these expenses.

<div>On January 15, 2024, our world changed forever. Our mom, Christie Watson, was on her way to work when she stopped at the emergency room, struggling to breathe and in excruciating pain. She thought it was pneumonia. Instead, a CT scan revealed a devastating reality—tumors in her breast, lungs, liver, and bones.

<div>The next three weeks were a whirlwind of doctor’s appointments, tests, and waiting. Then, the biopsy results confirmed our worst fears: HER2-, ER+ metastatic breast cancer. The cancer had already spread from the meninges of her brain to the bones in her legs.

<div>Now, we are facing the long, grueling road of targeted immunotherapy, hormone-blocking therapy, and radiation to her skull, with the possibility of needing chemotherapy in the future. The fight ahead is daunting, but our mom is a warrior. She is choosing to fight not just for herself, but for us—her three daughters, who love her more than anything.

<div>My dear friend Brianna was recently in a tragic car accident, crashing into a tree and a telephone pole. Her injuries are severe, and she's been in a coma for over a week now. Her brain is swollen, and she faces a long recovery ahead once she wakes up. In a desperate attempt to improve her chances, doctors removed the right side of her skull. Heartbreakingly, she has also been diagnosed with pneumonia while in the coma.

<div>The hospital where she is being treated is hours away from her home. Between the mounting medical bills and the cost of travel, her family is under immense financial strain. Her mother hasn't left her side since the accident and is unable to work. Her father, having exhausted all his paid time off, has no choice but to return to work.

Support Brianna's Long Road to Recovery

<p>I am sitting here watching my son-in-law sleep in my recliner. Normally, he is very active, talkative, and a very outgoing person, but liver disease is taking its toll on him. He was a police officer with the Chattanooga Police Department for 27 years and has helped many people over the years. He has helped me for years and it's now my time to help him and my daughter, Amy,  who is also having health issues. Amy was also a Chattanooga Police officer for 13 years and has helped many people.<br />Steve was recently diagnosed with liver disease and in 3 weeks lost 55 pounds and has been hospitalized twice. He will be placed on the liver transplant list in May. Steve had to give up a part time job due to his illness and was told by his doctors to file for disability. Steve's medical bills are already high and will continue to get higher. <br />Amy is also unable to work due to her health problems.
