Just a Van and the launch of The Place Between is ready to hit the community streets! We all feel the pressure and this idea has been brewing for years. Nothing ventured, nothing gained so, we're raising funds for a reliable used van so this mobile creative and community project can come to life: art, stories, kindness, connection, and tiny dragon energy on the road. Creating Community where ever the adventure takes us. The Place Between is a travelling space for creativity, healing, planting, storytelling, and small acts of kindness. It is part dream, part dragon, part community spark, and part “let’s actually do the thing.” I'm an artist, storyteller, creator, and community builder, but most of all dreamer. The Place Between: a traveling space dedicated to art, stories, connection, creativity, and kindness. Ment to animate and bring those out of lonely long days. I like to think of it as an Ice-Cream truck but for Good Vibes and Belonging instead. Like many creatives our imaginations run a very neat internal life. Siggy is a way I become aware of forgotten parts of myself that deserve healing. And why not make her the fiercest of wee-dragons. It fits...lol. This is my imagined force of will who although at times destructive, has never let me down. That part of me that believes courage often arrives before certainty, and if one thinks thats "Impossible" she chirps "Hold my drink and watch this". As such it's time for Siggy take the wheel. So, she's off... and apparently with my phone... THE DREAM The Place Between is a mobile creativity and community suppprt project. The vision is simple: Travel. Create. Share stories. Meet people. Leave little pockets of kindness behind wherever we go. I want to bring art, conversation, encouragement, creativity, and connection into communities while documenting the journey and creating meaningful experiences along the way. The van is not the dream. The van is the bridge to whats possible, and oh the stories capture. HOW FUNDS WILL BE USED Purchase a reliable used van Registration and insurance Basic van conversion Safety equipment Creative supplies Community outreach materials Travel expenses Emergency repair fund Any funds raised beyond the goal will be graciously accepted to expand and sustain The Place Between project and help pass it forward to others, and lite the path for others.
