<div>On October 27th, my sister, Summer, was involved in a serious accident while working. She was driving a large water truck when it rolled over, ejecting her from the vehicle. It’s truly a miracle that she survived and her injuries weren’t more severe. However she is still in significant pain with numerous injuries and broken bones and is facing a long recovery ahead.

<div>While we are incredibly thankful she’s alive, this accident has turned her world upside down. She will be off work for an undetermined amount of time, and it’s still unclear what costs will or won’t be covered by workers’ compensation. Help Summer Recover from a Terrible Accident.

<div>Our dear Wally and Edna Watson, two of the most generous people we know, have given their all to their river family and friends for 50 years. Now it’s our turn to help them.

<div>Wally was diagnosed in the beginning of May with an inoperable brain tumor and a prediction of a few months left to live. But Wally only had 10 days at home to garden, socialize, and enjoy his time on the river before things progressed quickly. Wally passed on the morning of May 22nd, surrounded by love, with Edna at his side. His passing was peaceful, and he did not suffer.

<div>Wally was big hearted, donating countless rafting trips to schools and community groups so local kids could get on the river. He coached Little League and maintained the ball field for decades. He donated his carpentry skills to help people build or repair homes; and started the Top Dog Fishing Derby as a fun event, bringing folks together to celebrate fishing. When there were calls for volunteers, Wally was there.

<div>Edna has wrestled with progressive losses of mobility from Parkinson’s over the last years. Over more than 30 years, she was a top-notch classroom and special education teacher, volunteering past retirement. Edna was so devoted to the kids that behind the scenes, she gave families support in the form of clothing, food, tutoring, arranging transportation, help with navigating educational systems, filling out applications, and organizing events. Whenever Edna could help us out, she did it with unconditional love and compassion.

Support Janey's Funeral and Children's Travel

<p>Since 2019 Two Rivers PAWWS has been rescuing animals. Many of the animals we see are the abandoned, abused, or lost. Most come with significant injuries or health problems. The most common injuries we see are hit by cars, mauled by other animals, or intentially hurt by humans. Most common illnesses are parasite infections(fleas,ticks, worms), upper respiratory infections, and heartworm due to the warm climate of Eastern Humboldt County, California which intensifies transmission of all of these. 
</p><br />
<p>Day to day expenses are growing and emergency and big projects tend to quickly suck away any money saved. While we've figured out how to maintain by staying small, sometimes a great need for funding arises, for example: 12 abandoned cats or 2 dumped dogs, mother animals with whole litters of nursing babies, and emergency intakes. 
</p><br />
<p>The rescue has no brick and mortar building but we still try to do our best to help the animals who have no voice to bring awareness and would not have their story told. Many would not get the chances they do without support. Rehoming pets has been one of the essential points of the rescue, to give animals loving homes. Population control has been the other. All animals that go through the rescue are spayed and neutered, vaccinated, and need to be deemed healthy to go to homes. This is can take time and lots of ongoing funds. This is where we are struggling. 
</p><br />
<p>On average, a single vet bill will be from 4-800 dollars. We've spent over 10,000 this year alone, that's just at the vet. Keeping our emergency funds up help us help the forgotten and abandoned. Please donate and share.

<div>Shortly before 6PM on Friday, October 18th, Taz's world was flipped upside-down in a completely inconceivable way and with absolutely no warning.
</div>

<div>He'd left his house just over an hour before what came next: a tragedy unfolding, in real time, in Gerlach- the place where people wait for October, because that's when things return to the quiet stolen over the course of Summer. He was at the office, around the corner from his home as dinner time neared when a concerned, local friend called him on the phone to inform him that his house was on fire. The first thing he did after arriving to his house was an attempt to go inside (before emergency personnel arrived) hoping to save his decades-long cat companion.
</div>

<div>Shortly thereafter, the town heard explosions as (presumed) propane tanks gave way to the heat. By the time most of us in town arrived, the fire department was already on site and the damage was immeasurable. At least two hours after the fire had been spotted, it still was incapable of being fully extinguished. Community members sat with Taz as he watched all of his earthly belongings turn to ash.
</div>

Help Taz Rebuild After Devastating Fire

<div>  Several months ago, Derek (aka Drink Water) was hospitalized for a week due to a chronic and progressive illness. While gains are being made toward stabilizing him at home, Derek’s physical and mental conditions are impaired to a degree that he is unable to work (or even drive) for the foreseeable future. 
</div>
<div>His care requires countless medical appointments, coordination between multiple specialists, dealing with insurance and pharmacies, and a heavily-specialized diet and routine.  This has become a full-time job for his wife Meredith (Mira), who is unable to work due to Derek’s extensive care requirements. With no end in sight for Derek’s needs and expenses piling up, they are turning to their community to help them weather this storm. 
</div>
<div>Derek has always been there for his people whether it was negotiating for his union, mentoring his crew members on playa, helping facilitate art around the world, or simply reminding us all to say “I love you”. This is our chance to let him know how much we love him and that he and Mira don’t have to walk this path alone.

Help for Derek's transplant care

<div>Update: Thank you so much for helping Tania reach her initial goal..Unfortunately, Tania had to have emergency surgery yesterday  and she is currently stable and recovering in the ICU. <div>John Brazoski (aka John Bastard) suffered a near fatal rollover accident on 5/20/23 that resulted in his being airlifted from Gerlach to Reno, NV.

<div>He is okay (!) but medical bills are mounting, injuries are extensive and it's going to be a minute before he's back on his feet.

<div>He's currently dealing with multiple surgeries, a neck fusion, punctured lung, broken ribs, snapped tibula, severed wrist tendons and clotting in his leg.

<div>Despite these sustained injuries, he's recovering well and in high spirits. However, he's going to need some time to recover.

<div>He is currently still in the ICU and will be hopefully moved to a normal room soon where he will be for about a week.  After, he will be staying with friends in Reno for recovery.

Help John Overcome From Near Fatal Car Accident!!

<div>my name is Edna Watson and i want to raise money for my friend Roxie Souza , who has helped her community of Happy Camp by working with an organization called Feed the Need ,which supplies food to people in need and also school materials and backpacks and food for families as the beginning of every school year.I helpedRoxie in distributing food and school supplies locally for a few years myself . Now Roxie desperately needs help.

<div>A little over a week ago, her daughter, Tashawna Brink,was involved in a horrible accident in a truck caused by an impaired driver.Tashawna ended up very lucky to be alive , with 17 broken bones , including her pelvis , a femur , both clavicles and an ankle , as well as a fracture in her spine . Surprising to me , Tashawna was sent home to wait for a bed to open up a in a skilled nursing home in either Redding , Eureka, orMedford, Oregon , one with good rehab facilities. I was told she was sent home because the hospital needed the bed while she’s waiting. Roxie has her at home now trying to help her get to the bathroom when she cannot even put any weight on her legs or her arms . It is very rough . Tashawna will need several months at a rehab facility. Right now she needs 24/7 care ideally by an RN , which her mother is not. Her mother needs help to bathe her , to move her, feed her, to get things for her, and to medicate her or to always be in earshot of her. needs .

<div>Right now, Roxie has to pay out of pocket for any of these needs, including a hospital bed, and a potty and other paraphernalia for nursing her daughter at home. Eventually, Roxiecan get some things paid for by Medi-Cal ,and MediCal is not as generous as one might need…

<div>All of this is going to cost a lot of money to deal with . For starters, it is always expensive when you have to travel so far for any medical care especially when you have to be there day after day even if they have a Ronald McDonald house that will still cost a little bit of money as well as gas and food. and right now at home, Roxy is having to pay for a hospital, bed and other supplies and help to help her move Tashawna because being a single mom , Roxie has no partner help her . Probably the worst part for Roxie could be continued loss of hours from the Pizza House in Happy Camp where Roxie works to support her self and 2 daughters . even though her employer is great and Roxy probably won’t be fired ,lost time is still lost.Therefor money is less. at a time when expenses are rising; Roxie will still have her same bills plus new ones as she travels back-and-forth between whatever nursing home accepts Tashawna, and her home in Happy Camp, which will be at least 100 miles from Happy Camp no matter what town she finds a nursing home in. A lot of money will be needed just for gasoline to go back-and-forth to the nursing home ….

<div>Hello, my name is Lela Alber. I have had the pleasure of knowing Claire for over 20 years. Her mother Kathy is one of my best friends. Yesterday I was contacted by Kathy,  Claire's mom who told me of this awful accident. Earlier this week Claire passed away. The circumstances of her death are still unknown, although it is suspected she drowned. Pearl's father passed away a few years ago. Without her parents Pearl, Claire's daughter  will likely return to Seattle to now be raised by her grandmother Kathy. Who will certainly need help financially to help with Pearl's future. My heart breaks for the family and Pearl. Claire was an amazing soul, one of a kind, and a very special person. <p>As you all know by now, my uncle Bobby has passed away in a car accident. I’ve been talking to him a lot lately and he’s been missing his sister (my mom) terribly. All I can think about is how he’s finally happy. No more pain. No more suffering. The last few years have been really tough on him.
</p>

<p>As for the rest of us, we are beyond heartbroken. During this time, we could really use the financial help to bring Bobby back to the river. Memorial services are TBA but am assuming they’ll be held at the Tripp Ranch, on the salmon river. That’s what he would’ve wanted. Thank you for the condolences. Bobby touched many people’s hearts. He was truly one of a kind and will forever be missed. He was a true river boy.<br /><br />yootva
