<div>Pabs was the kind of person who made every riverbar louder with laughter. He was funny without trying, full of life, and the kind of man who made people into family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Trav leaves behind two beautiful daughters whom he loved deeply, along with his mom, sisters, aunties, cousins, partner, and so many cuddies who are struggling to imagine this world without him in it.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This tragedy comes during a time when our community has already been carrying so much grief, and the weight of it all has been heavy on everyone. But if there is one thing our River People know how to do, it is to come together for each other… and if Pabs was here he would crack a joke to lighten this moment, in the way he always did.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>So here we are, unbelievably raising funds to help support his memorial and to ease some of the burden on the family as they navigate this unimaginable loss. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help. If you are unable to donate, please share this fundraiser and keep his daughters and family in your prayers and hearts.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Pabs will be remembered for his humor, his hugs, his big personality, and the joy he brought to the people around him. He was and always will be deeply loved, let's send him off with a big Injun holler.

<div>Please Help Summer Recover After a Terrifying Work Accident

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>On October 27th, my sister, Summer, was involved in a serious accident while working. She was driving a large water truck when it rolled over, ejecting her from the vehicle. It’s truly a miracle that she survived and her injuries weren’t more severe. However she is still in significant pain with numerous injuries and broken bones and is facing a long recovery ahead.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>While we are incredibly thankful she’s alive, this accident has turned her world upside down. She will be off work for an undetermined amount of time, and it’s still unclear what costs will or won’t be covered by workers’ compensation. Unfortunately, that means she’s left to manage lost wages and medical bills on her own while she focuses on healing.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Anyone who knows Summer knows how hardworking and independent she is. Asking for help doesn’t come easy to her, but right now, she needs our support more than ever.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>We’re raising funds to help cover:

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Lost income while she’s unable to work

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Medical expenses and follow-up care not covered by insurance or workers’ comp

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Day-to-day living expenses during her recovery

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>If you’re able to contribute, no matter the amount, it will make a huge difference for Summer as she works toward getting back on her feet. Even if you can’t donate, please share this page and keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness and support during this difficult time. ❤️

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>— Stephanie and the rest of our Family.

</div>

Help Summer Recover from a Terrible Accident.

<div>Our dear Wally and Edna Watson, two of the most generous people we know, have given their all to their river family and friends for 50 years. Now it’s our turn to help them.
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>Wally was diagnosed in the beginning of May with an inoperable brain tumor and a prediction of a few months left to live. But Wally only had 10 days at home to garden, socialize, and enjoy his time on the river before things progressed quickly. Wally passed on the morning of May 22nd, surrounded by love, with Edna at his side. His passing was peaceful, and he did not suffer.
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>Wally was big hearted, donating countless rafting trips to schools and community groups so local kids could get on the river. He coached Little League and maintained the ball field for decades. He donated his carpentry skills to help people build or repair homes; and started the Top Dog Fishing Derby as a fun event, bringing folks together to celebrate fishing. When there were calls for volunteers, Wally was there.
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>Edna has wrestled with progressive losses of mobility from Parkinson’s over the last years. Over more than 30 years, she was a top-notch classroom and special education teacher, volunteering past retirement. Edna was so devoted to the kids that behind the scenes, she gave families support in the form of clothing, food, tutoring, arranging transportation, help with navigating educational systems, filling out applications, and organizing events. Whenever Edna could help us out, she did it with unconditional love and compassion.
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>Wally has medical and funeral expenses. Edna is no longer able to live independently. Our goal is to cover Wally’s expenses and raise funds for Edna’s care to give her safety, dignity and comfort. Give whatever you can, every bit is appreciated, and please give big, as Wally and Edna would. Please share.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With love, the Team
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you have any questions or would like to make a larger direct donation please contact us and we'll get you in touch with Pam Ward.
</div>

Let’s Rally for Wally & Edna

<div>We are heartbroken to share that our dear friend Bryan Sloane died unexpectedly at the age of 59. His passing has shocked all of us, but no one more so than his wife, Christine “Piper” Malik.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Piper and Bryan have been at the heart of our community for decades. While Bryan was a steady and gentle presence, Piper has been a radiant and inspirational force. She brings people together, holds space for joy and healing, and shows up time and again with compassion and care. If you’ve ever been comforted during a hard time, danced with friends at a gathering, or felt a sense of home at Utopiafest or a music night, chances are Piper helped make that moment possible.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She is one of the true pillars of our community. Piper checks in when someone is struggling, sits beside friends during chemo, and reminds us we’re not alone. She has done all of this while quietly facing her own health challenges, never asking for help, always offering kindness and encouragement.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Now it’s our turn to show up for her.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In recent years, Bryan was the primary breadwinner. His passing has left her suddenly without financial stability, without health insurance, and facing the unimaginable task of rebuilding her life while coping with overwhelming grief.
</div>
<div>This fundraiser will help cover:
</div>
<ul>
<li>Immediate costs related to funeral and memorial arrangements
</li>
<li>Mortgage, utilities, and other living expenses
</li>
<li>Health insurance premiums and essential medical needs
</li>
<li>Financial support as Piper begins the next chapter of her life
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The goal amount is based on a careful calculation of these immediate and near-term needs. Our hope is that by coming together now, we can provide Piper with the stability she needs to grieve, heal, and begin to move forward without the added burden of financial stress.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please consider contributing whatever you can. If you're able, setting up a recurring donation will allow us to support Piper not just today, but over the coming weeks and months as she finds her way through this incredibly difficult time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for your generosity and love. Christine/Piper has stood with so many of us when we’ve needed her most. Let’s stand with her now.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>IMPORTANT UPDATE - While Piper appreciates the outpouring of love, she is overwhelmed with everything right now, so please give her some space for a while. She has a large group of friends helping her with logistics, food, and emotional support. There will be communication about services when appropriate.
</div>

Support for Christine “Piper” Malik After the Loss of Bryan

<div>Dear family and friends,

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I’m reaching out because I have found myself in the unfortunate position to ask for help regarding the funds I need to retain custody of my son.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I’m currently facing one of the most difficult times in my life — being separated from my son.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Many of you are aware of what the last 2 years have been for me, and many of you are not aware, so this may come as an unpleasant surprise. Please know I would not be asking if it wasn’t truly my last resort in order to maintain my relationship with our sweet Parsley aka after 6.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Due to an ongoing custody dispute, I’ve had limited time, and the court has required a professional custody evaluation. This evaluation is critical. It’s the next step toward reestablishing a meaningful relationship with my child, proving my commitment, and showing the court that I am ready and willing to be the parent he deserves. However, the cost of this process — approximately $10,000 — is more than I can afford on my own right now.

</div>

<div>I’m doing everything I can to meet legal requirements, stay strong emotionally, and remain focused on the ultimate goal: being a present and loving parent. But I can’t do this alone.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>That’s why I’m turning to my community, friends, family, and anyone who believes that every child deserves both parents in their life. Every contribution, no matter the size, will bring me one step closer to reuniting with my son and giving him the stability and love that only a parent can provide.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>If you can’t donate, I completely understand. Sharing this campaign or keeping me in your thoughts means more than you know.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Thank you.

</div>

<div>With love, gratitude, and noses.

<div>Hello my name is Kaiti I am trying to find a way to pay for my son’s cremation. His name was Hunter James Cook and he was taken from us on 6/15/2025 at only 3 years old. He was murdered by his “Uncle” Marion Southerd. We are forever grateful for the time we had with Hunter, and we will always love him.

</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In Loving Memory
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With deep sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved friend, John. Known to many as John Bastard, John Bazoski, or John Julius Little, he touched countless lives with his kindness, humor, and generous spirit.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our Goal
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We're organizing a memorial service to honor John's life and legacy in Reno, Nevada. As his friends and chosen family, we're coming together to give him the farewell he deserves. However, the unexpected nature of his passing means we need support to cover the costs of his memorial service.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>How Your Donation helps! Aka the Financial Breakdown
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The total costs for providing John with a dignified farewell are estimated at $10,000:
</div>
<div>- Venue rental for celebration of life: $3,000
</div>
<div>- Food and beverages for guests: $3,000
</div>
<div>- Memorial materials and miscellaneous expenses: $3,000
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Every contribution, no matter the size, will help us reach our goal and allow us to properly honor John's memory. If we exceed our goal, additional funds will be used to establish a small memorial in John's name as well as help pay for his storage locker to give time to go through his belongings.

</div>
<div>There was no limit to how John would be there for friends and family. From renting a car and driving across the western states to be there for a friend to dancing in a onsie and being our favorite dinosaur to cheer up a houseful of friends.

<p>Since 2019 Two Rivers PAWWS has been rescuing animals. Many of the animals we see are the abandoned, abused, or lost. Most come with significant injuries or health problems. The most common injuries we see are hit by cars, mauled by other animals, or intentially hurt by humans. Most common illnesses are parasite infections(fleas,ticks, worms), upper respiratory infections, and heartworm due to the warm climate of Eastern Humboldt County, California which intensifies transmission of all of these.
</p><br />
<p>Day to day expenses are growing and emergency and big projects tend to quickly suck away any money saved. While we've figured out how to maintain by staying small, sometimes a great need for funding arises, for example: 12 abandoned cats or 2 dumped dogs, mother animals with whole litters of nursing babies, and emergency intakes.
</p><br />
<p>The rescue has no brick and mortar building but we still try to do our best to help the animals who have no voice to bring awareness and would not have their story told. Many would not get the chances they do without support. Rehoming pets has been one of the essential points of the rescue, to give animals loving homes. Population control has been the other. All animals that go through the rescue are spayed and neutered, vaccinated, and need to be deemed healthy to go to homes. This is can take time and lots of ongoing funds. This is where we are struggling.
</p><br />
<p>On average, a single vet bill will be from 4-800 dollars. We've spent over 10,000 this year alone, that's just at the vet. Keeping our emergency funds up help us help the forgotten and abandoned. Please donate and share.

<div>Shortly before 6PM on Friday, October 18th, Taz's world was flipped upside-down in a completely inconceivable way and with absolutely no warning.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He'd left his house just over an hour before what came next: a tragedy unfolding, in real time, in Gerlach- the place where people wait for October, because that's when things return to the quiet stolen over the course of Summer. He was at the office, around the corner from his home as dinner time neared when a concerned, local friend called him on the phone to inform him that his house was on fire. The first thing he did after arriving to his house was an attempt to go inside (before emergency personnel arrived) hoping to save his decades-long cat companion.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Shortly thereafter, the town heard explosions as (presumed) propane tanks gave way to the heat. By the time most of us in town arrived, the fire department was already on site and the damage was immeasurable. At least two hours after the fire had been spotted, it still was incapable of being fully extinguished. Community members sat with Taz as he watched all of his earthly belongings turn to ash.

<div> Several months ago, Derek (aka Drink Water) was hospitalized for a week due to a chronic and progressive illness. While gains are being made toward stabilizing him at home, Derek’s physical and mental conditions are impaired to a degree that he is unable to work (or even drive) for the foreseeable future.
</div>
<div>His care requires countless medical appointments, coordination between multiple specialists, dealing with insurance and pharmacies, and a heavily-specialized diet and routine. This has become a full-time job for his wife Meredith (Mira), who is unable to work due to Derek’s extensive care requirements. With no end in sight for Derek’s needs and expenses piling up, they are turning to their community to help them weather this storm.
</div>
<div>Derek has always been there for his people whether it was negotiating for his union, mentoring his crew members on playa, helping facilitate art around the world, or simply reminding us all to say “I love you”. This is our chance to let him know how much we love him and that he and Mira don’t have to walk this path alone.
</div>
<div>Donations of any size are greatly appreciated. No amount is too small, and every dollar makes a difference. If you are unable to give monetarily, please consider sharing this page far and wide.
</div>
<div>If you would like to leave a message of support, Mira and Derek have created a *Caring bridge page (in lieu of social media) and will update that page whenever possible. While they welcome all words of encouragement, they also appreciate folks keeping expectations low for immediate responses to individual communications and respecting their privacy during this time. Derek is receiving exceptional care from his medical team and fully trusts their expertise.
</div>
<div>Derek and Mira are incredibly thankful for your love and support.

<div>Update: Thank you so much for helping Tania reach her initial goal..Unfortunately, Tania had to have emergency surgery yesterday and she is currently stable and recovering in the ICU. Because of this unforeseen complication, her GoFundMe will remain open so friends and family can continue to donate and support her, as her recovery will take longer than first anticipated.
</div>
<div>Thank you so much for your support and for loving her in this very difficult time.
</div>
<div>Our lovely Tania/Nice doesn’t ask for much help and honestly hasn’t asked this time either… but she is in hospital now and is waiting to find out what has brought her there and kept her there. I’ve reached out to her sister to see if this would be helpful and was told it would make a world of difference to know that she had some money to fall back on as we aren’t sure when she will be able to return to work.
</div>
<div>No amount is too small. Anything can help. If you can find any money to spare to go towards our friend Tania I know she would appreciate it greatly. Thank you so much for your donations, we will keep you updated as much as possible xoxo
</div>

Tania, Nice needs our help as she navigates her recovery

<div>John Brazoski (aka John Bastard) suffered a near fatal rollover accident on 5/20/23 that resulted in his being airlifted from Gerlach to Reno, NV.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He is okay (!) but medical bills are mounting, injuries are extensive and it's going to be a minute before he's back on his feet.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He's currently dealing with multiple surgeries, a neck fusion, punctured lung, broken ribs, snapped tibula, severed wrist tendons and clotting in his leg.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Despite these sustained injuries, he's recovering well and in high spirits. However, he's going to need some time to recover.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He is currently still in the ICU and will be hopefully moved to a normal room soon where he will be for about a week. After, he will be staying with friends in Reno for recovery.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>While he is recovering, he will be unable to work. On top of all of these new medical expenses, there will be no income.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>John has always been there for you, now it's time to step up and be there for him.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are asking if you have anything you can spare to help him get back on his feet. Every little bit helps!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Feel free to reach out to Andy for additional info and support. He has direct contract with John. (Andy's #: [phone redacted])

Help John Overcome From Near Fatal Car Accident!!

<div>my name is Edna Watson and i want to raise money for my friend Roxie Souza , who has helped her community of Happy Camp by working with an organization called Feed the Need ,which supplies food to people in need and also school materials and backpacks and food for families as the beginning of every school year.I helpedRoxie in distributing food and school supplies locally for a few years myself . Now Roxie desperately needs help.
</div>
<div>A little over a week ago, her daughter, Tashawna Brink,was involved in a horrible accident in a truck caused by an impaired driver.Tashawna ended up very lucky to be alive , with 17 broken bones , including her pelvis , a femur , both clavicles and an ankle , as well as a fracture in her spine . Surprising to me , Tashawna was sent home to wait for a bed to open up a in a skilled nursing home in either Redding , Eureka, orMedford, Oregon , one with good rehab facilities. I was told she was sent home because the hospital needed the bed while she’s waiting. Roxie has her at home now trying to help her get to the bathroom when she cannot even put any weight on her legs or her arms . It is very rough . Tashawna will need several months at a rehab facility. Right now she needs 24/7 care ideally by an RN , which her mother is not. Her mother needs help to bathe her , to move her, feed her, to get things for her, and to medicate her or to always be in earshot of her. needs .
</div>
<div>Right now, Roxie has to pay out of pocket for any of these needs, including a hospital bed, and a potty and other paraphernalia for nursing her daughter at home. Eventually, Roxiecan get some things paid for by Medi-Cal ,and MediCal is not as generous as one might need…
</div>
<div>All of this is going to cost a lot of money to deal with . For starters, it is always expensive when you have to travel so far for any medical care especially when you have to be there day after day even if they have a Ronald McDonald house that will still cost a little bit of money as well as gas and food. and right now at home, Roxy is having to pay for a hospital, bed and other supplies and help to help her move Tashawna because being a single mom , Roxie has no partner help her . Probably the worst part for Roxie could be continued loss of hours from the Pizza House in Happy Camp where Roxie works to support her self and 2 daughters . even though her employer is great and Roxy probably won’t be fired ,lost time is still lost.Therefor money is less. at a time when expenses are rising; Roxie will still have her same bills plus new ones as she travels back-and-forth between whatever nursing home accepts Tashawna, and her home in Happy Camp, which will be at least 100 miles from Happy Camp no matter what town she finds a nursing home in. A lot of money will be needed just for gasoline to go back-and-forth to the nursing home ….

<div>All of these expenses cannot be avoided. The only way Roxie can do It is with help from the community at large, the community that Roxie has always tried to help .Now it is your time to pay it forward, to help Roxy be able to help her daughter. If a lot of people give a little that will help a lot, so please if you can, please help Roxie afford to be able to help her daughter .please give money to her bank account, which is where the go fund me money will go …thank you.

<div>Hello, my name is Lela Alber. I have had the pleasure of knowing Claire for over 20 years. Her mother Kathy is one of my best friends. Yesterday I was contacted by Kathy, Claire's mom who told me of this awful accident. Earlier this week Claire passed away. The circumstances of her death are still unknown, although it is suspected she drowned. Pearl's father passed away a few years ago. Without her parents Pearl, Claire's daughter will likely return to Seattle to now be raised by her grandmother Kathy. Who will certainly need help financially to help with Pearl's future. My heart breaks for the family and Pearl. Claire was an amazing soul, one of a kind, and a very special person. Please consider donating to help Kathy and Pearl with travel expenses and the memorial cost. Thank you for your consideration and support.

Claire an amazing soul

<p>As you all know by now, my uncle Bobby has passed away in a car accident. I’ve been talking to him a lot lately and he’s been missing his sister (my mom) terribly. All I can think about is how he’s finally happy. No more pain. No more suffering. The last few years have been really tough on him.

<p>As for the rest of us, we are beyond heartbroken. During this time, we could really use the financial help to bring Bobby back to the river. Memorial services are TBA but am assuming they’ll be held at the Tripp Ranch, on the salmon river. That’s what he would’ve wanted. Thank you for the condolences. Bobby touched many people’s hearts. He was truly one of a kind and will forever be missed. He was a true river boy.<br /><br />yootva
