- Raine is not just my pet—she is my everything, the beat of my heart and the air in my lungs. Her recent diagnosis of Metastatic Subcutaneous Hemangiosarcoma has been devastating. Raine has been by my side through every major challenge in my life: my heart surgeries, my mom’s stroke and hospice care, and even the loss of my beloved Border Collie, Charlie. Through my year-long illness, Raine was always there, offering comfort and unwavering love. Raine has also given so much to our community. As the SpokesDog for my nonprofit, No Bowl Empty 2 Pet Food Pantry, she has worked at public events, brought joy to countless people, and made a special impact on nonverbal autistic children during her monthly visits. Witnessing the connection she shares with these children is nothing short of miraculous. Raine loves with every ounce of her being, and her spirit has touched so many lives. Raine’s cancer was first discovered four years ago, right after I adopted her, making insurance impossible due to the pre-existing condition. I have managed her Cutaneous Hemangiosarcoma with several surgeries each year, but the recent diagnosis is much more serious. The oncologist has given us a prognosis of just 172 days. I have chosen palliative care to keep Raine comfortable and ensure every day is her best day. Unfortunately, my savings have been depleted by her ongoing surgeries and care. Funds raised will go directly toward Raine’s palliative care, special equipment as needed, and making her remaining days as joyful as possible. Please consider donating—no amount is too small. If you cannot donate, I completely understand; please consider sharing Raine’s story or leaving her words of love and encouragement.
