<div>My dad, Charles “Trai” Dailey, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly this week, and our family is now trying to navigate final arrangements without the financial resources to do so.

<div>My daddy struggled with addiction for nearly all of his life, and while that brought complexities into our family, he was still deeply loved by all of us. This loss is both simple and messy. It is his truth, and we want to honor that with dignity and care.

<div>Right now, we are working to figure out the best way to lay him to rest in a way that respects his religious beliefs. Despite everything, Trai was a deeply spiritual man. We are exploring all available options, but costs are a major barrier for our family. We are doing everything we can to come together and give him the goodbye he deserves.

<div>I was Trai’s daughter and only child for 11,007 days. That relationship was never easy, but it shaped everything I learned, loved, lost, and let go. There were moments where I saw who he could be, and I held onto those through every stage of my life. He walked a path that was often chaotic and dark, and Trai did what Trai wanted. Through it all, he was still a son, a brother, an uncle, a cousin, a first love — and my daddy. Trai leaves behind a complicated legacy, but my family and I hope we can give him a second chance.
