<div>Ben and I met in college, where we became roommates and close friends.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Ben has built a beautiful family with his wife, Kaitie, and their four kids. Ben is the kind of person who touches lives as a friend, family member, in his community, or through his work as the voice behind How to Take Over the World. Now, Ben is facing the fight of his life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Recently, Ben was diagnosed with stage 4 high grade neuroendocrine carcinoma. The cancer has spread to his brain, bones, lungs, and liver. He has already started his first round of chemotherapy, but a diagnosis at this stage is admittedly very grim.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Ben recently got a genetic test back from his liver biopsy and he's positive for a genetic marker that is likely to respond to a drug called Tarlatamab. In many cases, Tarlatamab can extend expected survival by a year or two, which is massive. But in order to achieve an outcome like that (and hopefully beyond), there will be an endless number of medical expenses for duration of Ben's life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Every dollar raised through this fundraiser will go directly toward covering treatment and other ongoing medical expenses. This will give Ben a real chance to spend more time with his family and focus on fighting cancer.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We're asking Ben's community to show up for him the way he's always shown up for others. No gift is too small. Funds will be transferred directly from Gofundme to Ben's account. And if you can't give, please share this page, send a note, keep Ben close in your thoughts. Ben spent years telling stories about people who did the impossible. Let's write one for him.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With love and gratitude,
</div>

Help Ben Fight Cancer: Support His Treatment

<div>Help Stephanie Fight Stage 4 Appendix Cancer

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Stephanie is a devoted sixth-grade teacher, a loyal friend, a proud corgi lover, and someone who truly enjoys life. She loves going out and making memories with her friends, spending time with the man she loves, and being surrounded by the people—and pups—who mean the most to her.

</div>

<div>At only 38 years old, Stephanie has been diagnosed with Stage 4 appendix cancer that has spread to other areas of her body. This devastating diagnosis has changed her life, but it has not changed who she is. Stephanie remains hopeful, positive, and determined to fight with everything she has.

</div>

<div>Stephanie has spent years caring for, encouraging, and educating her students. She has brought laughter, love, and friendship into the lives of so many people. Now, she needs her community to surround her with that same love and support.

</div>

<div>The money raised will help cover medical bills, treatments, travel to appointments, meals, household expenses, and any time she may need to take away from teaching. Most importantly, this support will allow Stephanie to focus on fighting, healing, and spending meaningful time with the people she loves—without carrying the added weight of financial stress.

</div>

<div>Stephanie deserves more nights laughing with her friends, more adventures with her corgis, more precious moments with the man she loves, and more time to experience all the beautiful things life still has waiting for her.

</div>

<div>Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a difference. When donating is not possible, sharing this fundraiser, offering a prayer, or sending a message of encouragement is also deeply appreciated.

</div>

<div>Please help us show Stephanie that she is surrounded by love and that she will never have to fight this battle alone.

</div>

<div>Dear Community,

<div>UPDATE 1/29/2024
</div>
<ul>
<li>Darlene underwent surgery two weeks ago. As part of the cancer treatment, she had a full hysterectomy to help limit the spread of cancer in her body
</li>
<li>She is recovering at home and still has several weeks of recovery to go.
</li>
<li>Many people have been reaching out and asking how they can support, and continuing to donate to this fund so that she can use the money for nourishment and self-care, is the best and easiest way to share your love and support.
</li>
<li>Thank you all for caring about our sweet Darlene!!
</li>

<div><br />
</div>
<div>Darlene Cordero, beloved friend, mother, and cherished leader in the wellness community, is facing a devastating diagnosis. 5 years after battling breast cancer to become cancer-free, she has just been newly diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer that has metastasized to her liver. Darlene will require extensive and expensive treatments to heal her body – and this will be a lifelong journey of healing.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In her own courageous words, Darlene has opened up about her diagnosis and the journey ahead:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>"If I told you I’ve had an easy life, I would be telling you a lie. But amidst the struggles, I have carried an inner sense that I was meant for more. From a young age, I knew deep down that my experiences did not define my true potential. This unwavering belief fueled my determination to lead with my heart and make a positive impact. I understood that regardless of the hardships, life would reward my optimism and resilience.</em>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>In 2018, as I celebrated my 40th birthday, I underwent a mammogram that revealed early-stage breast cancer called DCIS. Following a lumpectomy and radiation treatment, I embarked on a journey of self-reflection. This was a pivotal time when I reevaluated my health, relationships, and the impact I wanted to make through my work. I began prioritizing my well-being, delving into living by yogic principles, and making significant shifts toward a healthier lifestyle– shifts that have resulted in a clean bill of health from annual cancer screenings every year. Well, until recently.</em>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>Two weeks ago, as I felt abdominal pain, I visited the hospital thinking it was a pulled muscle from a spin class. Within 24 hours, I received the unimaginable news—the cancer had returned, and I was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer that had metastasized in my liver. It was a shock, and questions flooded my mind. How could this happen?</em>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>The past few weeks have been a rollercoaster of emotions, filled with fear, uncertainty, and profound gratitude to my friends (earth angels) and community. Despite the overwhelming challenges I now face, Cancer will not define me. This story is not just about me; it is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of community.</em>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>This is my story, but it is also our story—a testament to the tenacious human spirit and the boundless capacity for hope, resilience, and love. I hope to inspire others that face their own battles, reminding them that they are not alone. I embrace the opportunity to walk side by side on this path, inspiring and supporting one another as we compose the beautiful narratives of our lives with courage, grace, and unwavering determination."</em>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>Forever grateful,</em>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>Darlene</em>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The road ahead for Darlene will be filled with various integrative therapies to fight this battle. The costs for these treatments will be high and she won’t be able to work as much as she would like or need to. Worrying about finances is the last additional stressor she needs. Let’s rally around Darlene and provide financial support to cover her living expenses, medical bills (not covered by insurance), travel and accommodations for her family (since she is on a different coast than her immediate family), and pet care.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a profound impact on Darlene's life. It will help ease the financial burden and allow her to focus on her recovery. Together, we can be the driving force that helps her navigate this difficult chapter with strength and hope.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Fundraising isn't just about financial donations; it's also about raising awareness. We kindly ask you to share this campaign with your friends, family, and social networks to help us reach a wider audience and maximize our impact. By spreading the word, we can bring more attention to Darlene's journey and inspire others to join us in supporting her.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Today, let us come together as a community to uplift and support someone who has spent her life uplifting and supporting others. Let's show Darlene that we are by her side, every step of the way, and that we believe in her ability to overcome this challenge with grace and ease.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and generosity. Together, we can make a difference in Darlene's life and be a source of strength and healing.

Darlene's Healing Journey: Community in Action

Hi everyone, my family and I are fundraising so that we can continue paying our bills &amp; rent, evade eviction and live together in a stable environment.

My husband and I are Artists and Entrepreneurs. We have two kids, age 5 and 7. In September, I was involved in a devastating car accident; totaling the vehicle and preventing me from further driving full time for Uber and Postmates.

Since then, we have fallen behind on bills and our rent. Our apartment complex has been understanding and has worked with us monthly to come up with payment plans. However, we are still behind and eviction is a possibility. My husband has been working tirelessly to provide for us and is currently looking for opportunities to create supplemental income. I am currently looking for work that has flexible hours so that I can continue helping my kids with virtual schooling. This task has not been easy.

Your donations would tremendously help our family. We will be able to pay off our remainder balance for December and pay for the upcoming month of January. We will also be able to catch up on past due utilities, including our electric and phone bills.

During this uncertain time, the last worry a family needs is trying to figure out where we will all sleep. We’ve been separated by financial instability once before and we are willing to do anything, including drop all pride to ask for assistance from those able and willing, to not be separated by financial hardship again.

Thank you in advance.

Evading Eviction

This gorgeous creation is Mrs. Ashlie Maloy. If you’ve never had the privilege of meeting her, you should know that she truly blesses the lives of everyone around her. I hope that I can express even a portion of the light and happiness she brings to this world. A little about her: she loves baseball, especially the Angels , the Cubs, Willson Contreras and Hunter Renfroe, she is a “Potter-Head”, her smile lights up the room, and she is the most dedicated and naturally talented special education teacher you could ever meet. Unfortunately, she has also been diagnosed with a highly aggressive form of cancer. We are not embracing this diagnosis, we are accepting that it is a temporary speedbump in this beautiful and purposeful life she is living. This Go Fund Me is our opportunity to share a little more of her love with the world and implore you to share your love with her.<br /><br />In January of this year, Ashlie developed mild hip pain. As most people would, she treated it with physical therapy, essential oils, light exercise, and sought treatment from several doctors, but saw no improvement. In March, the pain became much less manageable and her right thigh began to go numb. All the while, she remained dedicated to her students and pursuing her Master’s degree. Ashlie kept working the many hours that teachers are required to work, grading papers, writing IEP’s, going to meetings, and attending her own college courses in the evenings. By May, she’d lost all feeling in her right thigh and her pain was so intense that she had to be rushed to the emergency room. After a week in the hospital, two surgeries, and two blood transfusions she was sent home with a misdiagnosis. Eight weeks later Ashlie was back in the ER with the same symptoms only to be sent home yet again, with no answers.  Through all of this, she continued working full time and attending college courses. On the evening of August 24th, Ashlie awoke with complete loss of feeling in, and function of, her right leg. Her pain was so intense that she had to be rushed back to the ER where she was diagnosed with a highly-malignant and aggressive tumor on her psoas muscle.<br /><br />Unconcerned with the decrease in pay, Ashlie took her dream job at William T. Machan Elementary. Even though Ashlie has been teaching for 7 years, she has only been in her current district for a few months, causing her to be ineligible for FMLA benefits. The school was in desperate need of a special education teacher, so she jumped at the chance to go where she could advocate for her students. As many of you probably know, it takes a compassionate soul to be a special education teacher, and Ashlie is one of the best. If you didn’t need any more motivation to help this amazing educator, she has been more worried about the students she will be leaving without an instructor than she has been about her own health. She is already trying to figure out how she can help them from her hospital room. She has such a huge heart that she is more concerned with the way this is affecting her students, family, and friends.<br /><br />Ultimately, this twist of fate has created a situation where Ashlie is going to be out of work for several months without pay. Ashlie and her wife, Randi, are desperate for assistance with their utilities, hospital bills, food, and mortgage during this trying time. I know there are thousands of other places you could donate your money. There are thousands of other causes that are worthy of your support. Please know any amount given will be used wisely. Every penny you donate will be used to build up this amazing woman who has spent her life building up those who often go unnoticed. The respect and admiration she shows others is virtually tangible; she has a genuine way of making people feel as if they matter. In her own words, she says, “I just want people to feel loved. Too many people never get to feel that.” Through your donation, please show her that same kind of love. Thank you for your sympathy, compassion, prayers, and for partnering with her in her fight for survival.
