Grace is my 8-year-old Goldendoodle therapy dog, and she has spent a couple of years working with special needs children. Her gentle nature and loving spirit have made her a favorite among therapists, parents, and kids alike. Grace’s presence brings comfort and joy to everyone she meets, and she is truly missed at work by so many.

 Recently, Grace became very ill in less than 24 hours. She was rushed to the ER and then taken to an emergency surgeon due to a dangerous bacteria. The diagnosis was not preventable and came on suddenly—she was playing in the morning, and by late afternoon, she was laying in a pool of blood and lethargic. If not treated, dogs can pass within 12 hours. Even through all the pain and trauma, Grace walked into the vet’s office wagging her tail and greeting everyone as if she was just having another day at work.

With Geoff’s and Michella’s help, Mom and Dad were able to leave the house with the dogs and clothes on their back but nothing else. Mich, a former firefighter, helped the firefighters who were trying to save the house but ultimately lost the fight. After being in the Las Vegas shooting, Mich came home expecting calm and a few days later the house burned down. It has not been a good few weeks for her. Everything in the house furniture, clothes and momentos were lost in the fire, not just Mom and Dad’s stuff, but Mich’s as well. Many of you have been asking what you can do to help and I thought this was the best way. Mom, Dad, Geoff, Mich and the dogs, need everything from toothbrushes and dog food to clothes and shoes. (Yes, Dad left with his slippers.) Nothing was insured and I am guessing it is too late to discuss the virtues of renters insurance. I know my parents and sister have helped a lot of people in their time of need and now it is they who need the help. Any donation would be appreciated. All money raised will go to Mich, Mom, Dad and Geoff to help them start the next phase of their life. Mich needs all of her work uniforms, housewares and furniture for her new rental. (Her uniforms are not cheap!) Mom, Dad and Geoff need the same (minus the uniforms) as they figure out their next steps. Baylee, Angel and Vianna (the dogs) lost their home and belongings as well and will need food, leashes, beds, bowls and a few toys to help ease their transition. Flores Family Fire Recovery

The Lake Howell Pop Warner family is asking for your support to assist Delaney and Gavin Clark, who tragically lost their father, Kevin, during the Fiamma work place shooting in Orlando on June 5, 2017. Delaney (14) was a cheerleader with LHPW for several years, having just graduated from the league this past season. Gavin (18) played football for LHPW for numerous seasons and recently graduated from Lyman High School. Kevin was a constant supporter of LHPW, where he could often be found snapping pictures on the sideline during game days. In addition to this tragic event, Gavin and Delaney lost their mother over nine years ago.  Kevin Clark was a wonderful man and an absolutely amazing, supportive and loving father who will be missed by many. Please help us support this Hawk family in their time of need.
