<div>My name is Kristin Wickham (Cunningham), my father, James Mark Cunningham was in a life threatening accident on November 6th, 2024 around 6:30pm in Rapid City, South Dakota. Reported by the local news, he was driving westbound when a another vehicle was going eastbound, got into his lane and hit him head on with a combined speed of 150. His vehicle rolled a couple times and he was trapped in his truck. His truck was totaled and he sustained serious life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital. He had to have two major surgeries one for his back which almost left him paralyzed and the other for his right leg, ankle, and foot which was completely shattered in the accident as you can see in the cover photo. He is currently dealing with heart issues which is causing his blood pressure to drop. Unfortunately, due to this accident my dad will never be able to walk normal again and it has been a horribly traumatic experience.

<div>I love my dad very much and he means the world to me. He is an amazing grandfather, father, son, brother, friend etc. He is very lucky to be alive, as most do not survive this type of crash and I thank God everyday I did not lose my best friend.

Rebuilding Lives After Devastating DockFire

<a href="http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2015/12/18/thieves-ransack-paraplegic-army-veterans-woodland-home-stealing-valuables-memories/" target="_blank">CBS 13 News coverage of story</a> ‌<br /><br />Army SSG Alex Jauregui lost both legs, suffered significant hearing loss in both ears, and sustained extensive injuries to his right hand and forearm when he stepped on an improvised explosive device (IED) in Sangsar, Afghanistan on April 8, 2012. <br /><br />This past March, Homes for Our Troops (hfotusa.org) completed construction on a specially adapted home in Woodland, CA for SSG Alex Jauregui which has helped restore some of the freedom and independence Alex sacrificed while defending our country.<br /><br />Unfortunately, on December 16th Alex's home was broken into and an estimated $85,000 worth of cash and valuables were stolen (some of which can never be replaced due to sentimental value) and his insurance will only cover a small portion of what he lost.<br /><br />During this Christmas season Alex was focused on giving his children a very special Christmas and due to the recent events he will have to shift that focus to the matters at hand. <br /><br />Now is our opportunity to give back to Alex, who gave so much for his country.
