We are asking for support for Marcus.
Nine months ago, on Mother’s Day, Marcus was arrested following allegations connected to a vehicle dispute. At the time the most serious allegations were said to have occurred, Marcus and I were together having Mother’s Day breakfast at IHOP — a long-standing family tradition. We drove there in the very vehicle he is accused of stealing elsewhere at that same time.
He has remained in custody since that day.
During the arrest, Marcus was seriously injured. He was hospitalized for four days before being booked into jail. Medical records show he suffered a concussion, multiple abrasions, a shoulder injury, and a seizure during the incident (he has a documented seizure disorder). He was discharged with a diagnosis of encephalopathy.
Since then, Marcus has worked tirelessly on his own defense — reviewing filings, studying case law, and identifying critical legal issues in the prosecution’s case. Recent proceedings suggest that important questions are now being carefully examined in court. We believe Marcus deserves a full and fair opportunity to present the truth.
The financial burden of prolonged detention and legal defense is overwhelming. Funds raised will go toward attorney fees, court costs, investigative support, and necessary expenses related to his case.
As someone who knows Marcus deeply, I can say he is not defined by the allegations against him. These past nine months have tested us in ways I never imagined. Watching someone you love fight from inside a jail cell while recovering from serious injuries is something I would not wish on anyone. I am choosing to stay steady and focused on the legal process, trusting that truth has a way of surfacing. Your support — whether financial, emotional, or through sharing — reminds us that we are not alone.
If you’re able to contribute or share, we are deeply grateful. Thank you for standing with Marcus.
