Cierra Johnson was a remarkable young woman who, despite facing Sickle Cell Disease and Lung Disease for most of her life, never let her challenges define her. At just 27 years old, she passed away unexpectedly due to complications from her chronic illness, leaving behind a legacy of strength, perseverance, and love. Cierra was not only a devoted daughter and friend, but also a dedicated teacher and a loving mother to her infant son, Remi. Her journey was filled with obstacles, but she always faced them with courage and hope, inspiring everyone around her.
Throughout her life, I taught Cierra to persevere through difficulty, no matter the obstacles. She always rooted for the underdog and believed that with the right tools and support, anyone could overcome the mountains in their path. Sometimes, she reached a little too far and her chronic illness limited her, and we lost her due to complications. Though my heart is broken, I am so proud of everything that she accomplished. Her confidence in her own resiliency helped her earn two degrees from SPC and fulfill her dream of becoming a teacher and a mother. Now, as we grieve her loss, we want to honor her memory by supporting her son and covering the expenses that have come with this tragedy.
We are reaching out to friends, family, and the community for help. The funds raised will go toward funeral expenses, medical bills, and creating a memorial for Cierra. Additionally, we hope to start a college fund for Remi, so that Cierra’s legacy of perseverance and hope can live on through him. Any support you can offer, whether through donations or sharing this fundraiser, means the world to us. Thank you for helping us celebrate Cierra’s life and support her son’s future.
