My assistance dog has been my constant companion and lifeline through some of the toughest challenges in my life. Recently, her health has taken a turn for the worse—she’s struggling to stand, losing her balance, and even simple things like eating or climbing the steps to our apartment leave her exhausted. The vet told me she needs surgery to remove a tumor, be spayed, and have her teeth cleaned, with the possibility of tooth extraction. I’ve saved $1,500 for emergencies, but the estimate for her care is much higher, and I’m running out of time to help her. I’m doing everything I can to save her life and give her more years by my side. Selling my collectibles would take too long and might cost her the chance she needs. My dog means more to me than any material thing I own, and I’m asking for help from the community. Despite my own health struggles—including cancer, hip and spine issues, and cognitive decline—her well-being comes first. If anything happens to me, my nephew will care for her, so she’ll always be loved and safe.
