<div>My name is Toni Leigh Hampton. I’m a single mother and a junior at Wright State University, majoring in Motion Picture Production. For my Junior Thesis Film Project, I wrote and am directing a psychological horror short titled The People in the Paintings.

<div>This story is deeply personal to me. It explores anticipatory grief, mourning something that hasn’t happened to you yet, but feels inevitable.

<div>When I was a child, my great‑grandmother’s dementia was something I couldn’t understand. Her episodes frightened me because I had no framework for what was happening. As an adult, I understand more, but with that understanding comes with a quiet fear about what my own future might hold.

</div>

<div>In the film, my protagonist endures a terrifying night of psychosis driven by her fear of inheriting dementia.

</div>

<div>My name is Ciarah Jenkins and I am a student filmmaker at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. I am currently in the pre-production process for Directing my capstone junior thesis short film titled <strong>Citrus</strong>. This story is about a teenage girl who impulsively runs away from her abusive father with no place to go and no family to rely on.

<div>I am the only black female director in my class, with an almost entirely black cast, and a black female lead! "Citrus" is a story surrounding the themes of homeless youth and the struggle teenagers that grow up in unstable or abusive homes go through.

<div>My crew will be very large for a student production (30+ people every day for 5 days in a row!) Not only do we have to feed these lovely people delicious, home cooked meals, but we have to buy equipment and special tools to pull off all of the cool tricks we're planning! <br />
