I need support. My dog is in the midst of a medical emergency and it’s grim. I’m in a particularly challenging space, financially and emotionally, as my father died a few weeks ago which required last minute travels east, time off of work to be present with him, to grieve, etc. I was preparing to head east again this month to honor him properly, until the love of my life, my 10.5 year old dog Violet, collapsed yesterday evening. She was rushed to the ER vet. She had liquid surrounding her heart making it work overtime. They removed the liquid immediately, gave her X-rays, an ultrasound, and labwork is actively in progress. They are predicting she has an aggressive form of cancer, Hemangiosarcoma, referred to as “the silent killer” I am beyond relieved she made it home because I thought she would die in that emergency room. I am not losing hope but my only priority is her comfort and to be with her 24/7. My decision to work minimally to honor my healing is kicking my ass to say the least. Medical expenses are already stacking up, the ER visit was roughly $4000. The next step is the cardiologist, then they will give us our options from there.
