<br /><br /> First I want to thank everyone who donated the first time. It meant the world to my mother Gloria, and to me.<font color="#333333"><br /><br /></font>Unfortunately, Medicare barely covers the bare minimum and my mother and I are stuck in a hole, yet again. 

I seriously refuse to place my mother in a nursing home. Trying hard not to get it to that point.<br /><br /> I personally know friends that have dealt with that horrible situation and I can’t see myself putting my mother through that hell. She’d leave me way sooner. She was such an amazing wife and an amazing mother. She does not deserve that to be what’s left of her life. <br /><br /> So here I am. Starting this GoFundMe again, in hopes that you guys will be able to help me out again, if you can. And if you can’t donate (which I totally understand) it would mean a great deal to me if you guys can share this GofundMe page. Sharing does wonders guys. 

This is just too much for me to handle alone. <br /><br />Although she now gets 6 hours of aide help, for 7 days. Which I’m so grateful for. That’s just 6 hours in the day. She needs 24 hour care. It’s impossible for me to handle. Incase no one got to read my first GoFundMe, my mother suffers from dementia, on top of that, she has breast cancer, lymphedema and is frequently going to hospitals/appointments. Let me add that many times, her insurance will not pay for transportation or they get there late, so everything comes out of pocket. <br /><br /> Still trying to get the 24 hour care. The limbo of having this carrot of hope dangling in front of us has been extremely stressing yet again. It just doesn’t stop. It’s depressing because I can’t let me my mom down. 

I’m still paying out of pocket for home aide after the 6 hours, medical bills that aren't covered, and many needed medical supplies. Her glasses recently broke and so that’s also costing me. I included a couple of bills on this post, so you can see for yourself. It’s been a struggle for the past several months.<br /><br />I have been managing with just six hours of aid per day, seven days a week. Recognizing my increased needs, I have already applied for 24-hour aid, but unfortunately, the processing time for approval is expected to take a few more months. 

This prolonged wait has left me in a vulnerable position, particularly regarding some essential supplies that I am currently awaiting approval for, including underpants, chucks, and pads, dry wipes, food. The list goes on and on. Even doing the laundry adds up. 

<font color="#333333"><br /><br /></font>In the meantime, I have been tirelessly working to secure extra hours to cover the costs of additional home aid. Regrettably, despite my best efforts, the income generated is simply not enough to meet both the expenses of the aid and my mounting bills. <font color="#333333"><br /></font><span style="font-family:'-apple-system-body';">As a result, I find myself falling further behind on crucial payments, which is adding enormous stress to an already challenging situation.<br /><br /> All this and this does not include my own health situation, my own well-being. 

As I’ve explained in the past I am on a disability pension and have peaked on absolutely everything physically and monetarily possible. I’m not perfect. But if you personally know me, you know that I would go over and beyond for my friends, especially family. All I’ve got in this world is my mother and I’m  trying my best to have her here with me for as long as I can.To keep her comfortable.

<div>I was a frontline worker during the pandemic in the field of occupational therapy.
</div>
<div>During the pandemic, I was working in Manhattan and saw a lot of death, freezer trucks, and crazy things at the time.
</div>
<div>I developed insomnia and started self-medicating with alcohol. This eventually had an impact on my interpersonal relationships with friends, family, and eventually led to the dissolution of my marriage. I had a couple of scrapes with the law as well, which I am still trying to get past. I eventually sought help and spent time away, 118 days in a rehab facility in Pennsylvania and then 25 days in a dual diagnosis inpatient facility. After all was said and done, I was not able to go home and found myself homeless. I left Pennsylvania and made my way back to NY. I locked down a job after two weeks of being there. I had the job, which I basically lived at secretly, and showered at the gym. Things were seemingly improving. Despite all this, I still managed to pay the mortgage on a house I don't live in, electric, car payment, cell bill, groceries, school supplies for the kids, and everything else. Meanwhile, I can't move ahead. So now my past catches up and court stuff starts coming up. I get laid off from work. <strong>I just want to get past this chapter in my life but it seems impossible.</strong> I have no one to fall back on; both my parents are gone from cancer. Just typing this is making me want to throw up because I have always worked hard to be independent.
</div>
<div>I am not a person to ask for help, but I am out of options. Cornered. A friend of mine suggested I do this. So if you have read this far, please consider making a donation so <strong>I can stay sober, work on family counseling, navigate the courts, and keep my children's house running.</strong> It would mean so much to me and my two children.

<div>Hi. My name is Frank, but most people just call me Frank. I’ve been a bouncer and protector for a few decades. I’ve helped in situations from breaking up a fight in second grade that ended in me getting beaten up, but the twins I was helping got away; to saving the life of a guy who fell into the rail pit at Boston's North Station in 1998. I've stopped hundreds of fights, multiple sexual assaults, and several stabbings. I can't count the number of violent crimes I've prevented, including preventing a shooting in Boston, and scaring off a pair of armed robbers in Portland. I raised money for friends in need. I have sheltered people in my home who were fleeing an abusive partner. I've really tried to live up to the standard my parents set for me.

<div>…but when COVID hit, a combination of physical health, mental health, and living situation issues kept piling up and I got into pretty bad shape. My weight got to around 650 pounds, and I got to where I couldn't walk without canes. I spent all of last year helping my mom through some serious health problems, and midway through the year, my roommate had a massive stroke, then died in a nursing home. Between that and the near total isolation of my living situation, I hit my breaking point last November 18th. My rock bottom was a suicide attempt.

<div>After that, I have worked really hard doing therapy over the phone for my mental health. On the physical side, I’ve been trying to build strength while losing fat which is a serious challenge, but I was making good progress despite the depression trying to drag me down. I spent this year rebuilding myself, and was hoping to be back to work by this holiday season.

<div>Two weeks ago, I injured my left knee, and now I have a 6-8 week recovery time. This setback puts my financial situation into a very bad place. I have spent my entire life helping people, often at a serious cost to me physically, emotionally, financially, or a combination of those. I enjoy helping people, and the hits I take in doing so are simply a cost of trying to do the right thing. I have no regrets about those consequences, because my place in the world is to take the hits so that people who are better than me don't have to. I really hate asking for help. Unfortunately, I need to ask for help now. My elderly disabled veteran mother is the only family that I can ask to help me with some costs, so I really need to raise money to cover my bills for the next couple months.

<div>I’ve ramped up my diet plan, and am exercising in every way I can without straining my knee. I am following a very strict regimen to rehab my knee, as well. Adella started her incredibly successful hand-dyed yarn business as a direct response to not seeing herself represented nor appreciated; local yarn stores <em>incorrectly</em> assumed that as a Black woman, she couldn't possibly be a customer. Little did they know, those poor experiences served as a catalyst to create one of the most well-known hand-dyed yarn companies... in the world... run by one Black woman!

<div><a href="https://www.lolabeanyarnco.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Lolabean Yarn Co</a> . has grown to become a recognized and respected hand-dyed yarn company, by both customers and her industry peers. But as Adella has grown <a href="https://www.lolabeanyarnco.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Lolabean Yarn Co</a> ., her needs as a business have also grown. But in true Adella-fashion... she's focused her attention elsewhere. Every three months out of the year, she's proudly championed a Cause of the Quarter, whether it be to support organizations assisting Black and Brown folks to receive mental health treatments, new and upcoming Black &amp; Brown-run fiber publications, Black voter supression drives, and many more.

<div>But this time - after much arm-twisting and choice words - The Magpies <strong>finally</strong> managed to convince Adella that the much-needed cause, a.k.a. the person we needed to help? <strong>It was Adella, herself.</strong> Let us tell you why:

<div>In 2020, Lolabean Yarn Co. was growing at a rapid pace. Adella knew she needed more space, more team members, more equipment. But then... well, we all know what happened then. COVID-19 put everyone's world on pause, and Adella - poised to lease a new space - chose to pause her own goals, simultaneously choosing to protect her family from the uncertainty and exposure. This is a choice she will <strong>never</strong> regret, but in the reality of today's economy, her options for a growth path have now become both more limited and more expensive. That's where we come in!

<div><strong>We're counting on our fiber community to come here and recognize that this woman, Adella Colvin, and her business are an integral part of her industry... and that we want to help her build the legacy of a business that will survive the test of time. </strong>Due to the lack of financially-viable spaces, LBYC team has instead pivoted to renovating Lolabean Yarn Co.'s current space. Your donation will go towards helping her build the manufacturing space of her dreams on the property, funding a build-out optimized for a hand-dyed yarn company (to include new plumbing, a more integrated electric system, and a better layout). Though expensive, each of these improvements will allow the property to grow with Adella and her successful business and hopefully her potential new team.

<div>Hi. My heart is aching. Angel is sick her tummy is swollen so we took her to the vet they said she has fluid in her stomach and has swollen nymph nodes.  She needs more tests and it costs 2,300 . Please if you can help us get her healthy we would be so thankful. Angel is blind, a very old dog and we love her so much. We would do anything to save her even make make a go fund me for her.
