Hi everyone, and thank you for taking a moment to read this. I’m raising money for my mom, Brenda L. Maruri, who is 54 years old. Her favorite color is green, and she has always been someone who keeps pushing forward no matter what life puts in front of her. Years ago, doctors told her she would likely be in a wheelchair by 50 because of her back, but she refused to give up. She kept moving, kept trying, and kept fighting. That same strength is what’s carrying her through this difficult time now.
She has been in the hospital since November 19th, 2025, after several procedures that required her to stay and heal. During this long stay, she has fallen behind on rent, car payments, and other essential bills. She was able to cover November, but she still needs help with December through February. Her children aren’t able to support her financially, and she’s been very worried about what will happen if she can’t keep up with her bills. We were recently told she may need to move into a group home temporarily for 12 weeks, where she would continue learning how to walk and receive around-the-clock care. She did receive Medicaid on top of her Medicare, which will help her get to the next place she needs to be to continue her healing, but unfortunately, her personal bills will still not be covered. Every referral so far has been denied, but with the addition of Medicaid, she may now have a better chance at being approved. We’re doing everything we can to keep her calm and focused on healing, but the uncertainty has been weighing heavily on her.
If you’re able to offer thoughts, prayers, or even a few dollars, anything truly helps. Your support will help keep Brenda stable, safe, and at ease while she continues her recovery. Thank you so much for your kindness and for taking the time to care.
