Greetings, May this update honor Jesus and encourage you all in some fashion. It is my hope that the Lord would bless this and make a mountain or two move on behalf of Grammie Sharon. Over the past several months, it has been a season of longing, waiting, hoping, with anticipation for the return journey home to New Hampshire. There have been many delays and I am not without my fair share of fault in this whole process. There was a push to make the move happen before Christmas, but due to various circumstances, it was not finalized. The following portions are from other close friends/loved ones. The ~~~ break shows a change in authors. There will be 3 different 'voices' here, so please stick with us. At this time, I have left their names out to keep the heart of this fundraiser on the goal: Bring Grammie Sharon home. ~~~~~~~ Sharon Kemp, or "Grammie Sharon," is a dear Christian lady who is currently bedridden, and significantly limited mobility, residing in a senior care center in Wilmington, North Carolina. She is a beloved friend, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. It is her prayer that she could receive the miracle of moving back to her home state, New Hampshire to be with her family (and her dog Freedom!). ***** EDITED***** Unfortunately, there is a 12-18 month waiting list for Medicaid in NH. The good news is that a facility is willing to receive her! Previously, there was a facility that needed money upfront. However, the facility she currently had acceptance at, does not require that. Although, there will still be transportation costs. If we can raise $5,870 dollars, she will be able to travel with a ground ambulance company that Donna found. This is bedside to bedside, with a nurse accompaniment and 2 drivers. While it will be a long trip, it now seem to be the smoothest most comfortable method for her safety and wellbeing. Grammie Sharon's medical insurance is not expected to cover any of the cost. We need to raise the full amount to ensure her trip and support her return to NH. We are asking for about $500 over the quote cost to insure there is enough for the cost of travel with a small flexibility for unexpected changes in that quote as well as to include a small budget for personal travel expense not covered by the quote. I have changed the goal from previous to reflect her new travel cost. Please see the following. This still remains unchanged. **End edit** Note: Sharon has an additional $44,000 in medical debt. Any extra money raised beyond moving costs will be allocated to these funds. Also, if we are unable to raise enough for her to move, the funds will be used for her financial assistance. Once again, Sharon would love to be home with her family! Please pledge if you are so moved to help. Blessings! ~~~~~~ Thank you for your time, I have one more perspective to share. The following is from a dear friend of Sharon's. This is the testimony of their relationship that she gave me when I asked her to share a bit about her relationship. ~~~~~~ Sharon Kemp and I have been friends since we were 15 and 19! We met in 1961. Here we are, 64 years later, still very good friends. We went through all of the troubles and triumphs in our lives, together. We raised our kids together. In 1992/93 my daughter was dying and Sharon was right there to help, without ever being asked. She is a person who would do anything for anyone. If she sees a need, she is there, even before anyone would have a chance to ask. She is caring, giving, sharing and comforting in times of trouble. She was a caregiver to private patients for a number of years and she shared those attributes with them. She often shared with me (no names) about her patients and I knew that she had found her "Calling". She cared for them physically, emotionally and spiritually. She treated them like family and they were never "Just another job" or "Just another paycheck". Often, she was there when someone passed. She held their hand and her presence and prayers gave them great comfort. They were blessed to have her in their lives and I am VERY blessed to have her as my best friend for 64 years! Praise God ~~~~~~~ Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and support!
