<div>Hello. My name is Touby Yang. I am a 35 year old young man from St. Paul, Minnesota. Recently, I learned that I have stage four esophageal cancer. There was no way to prepare for such a terrifying revelation.

<div>Over the past few months, I have been experiencing dizziness, trouble swallowing, and have also experienced remarkable weight loss. When this first began, I did not think about it much. Recently, about a week and a half ago, I became so dizzy, I nearly lost consciousness and had to go to the emergency room. After hours in the ER, I was admitted to Regions where they ran several tests. It was then, I learned the stunning news that I had cancer. I was, and still am, devastated and scared. To make matters worse, I learned I have two infected heart valves which I will also need treated.

<div>The good news is the doctors have identified the problem and have a treatment plan for me. This includes chemotherapy, which will begin soon.

<div>The current state of affairs will impact my abilities to work and earn a living. The treatment will also cost money, outside of what my insurance will pay. I ask you to consider donating to my GoFundMe Campaign. Every bit helps. As a boy, I wanted to come to the United States, from France, to forge a future for myself. I could not have imagined cancer would have stood in my way, at the age of 35. I am also a single male without children and a spouse with limited support. <div><strong>Update 05-10-2024 (P.M.): </strong>It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Sai. She was surrounded by her loving husband, child, and family members. She peacefully took her last breath shortly before Noon. She is survived by her husband, Theodore Vu, and their 2 years-old son, Cid Vu.

<div><strong>Update 11-03-2023 (A.M.): </strong>Sai remains hospitalized. Her Creatinine levels are down today which appears that her kidney functions are improving so we're hoping that no dialysis will be needed today. The doctors may consider chemotherapy in the hospital so they can continue to monitor her kidneys in case that's the culprit. Otherwise, they will work on her kidneys getting back to normal and then start chemotherapy again.

<div><strong>Update 10-25-2023 (A.M.):</strong> Sai has been admitted back into the hospital for the past couple of days now. Her creatinine level is high so we are not sure if the medicine given to her to kill the bacteria from the <em>E. coli</em> infection damaged her kidneys. The doctors are suggesting a blood transfusion since her hemoglobin is so low. Please keep Sai in your thoughts and prayers!

<div><strong>Update 10-02-2023 (P.M.): </strong>Sai was discharged from the hospital on 09-29-2023. <em>Colitis</em> is under control, <em>E. coli</em> is being managed and she will be on her way to continue chemotherapy in a week or so.<strong> </strong>They will head down to Rochester, MN to the Mayo Clinic for additional medical support starting on 10-17-2023.

<div><strong>Update 09-26-2023 (P.M.): </strong><em>E. coli</em> has spread into her blood through the inflamed colon linings. The doctors are giving her antibodies to fight it. <div><strong>Update 09-26-2023 (A.M.): </strong>Sai was admitted back into the hospital on 09-23-2023. The doctors confirmed that she has <em>colitis</em>. They are still trying to figure out how she got it, but there is bacteria/infection in her bloodstream. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Any words of encouragement to both Sai and Theodore will be greatly appreciated!

<div>Sai is our daughter, sister, sister-in-law, cousin, niece, and friend. She has endured a lot of pain these past couple of months but most recently, in August of 2023 when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer, which means it has now spread to her lungs and liver.

<div>She married her spouse, Theodore Vu in June of 2014 in a cultural ceremony and the two got legally married shortly afterwards. They had their first and only child in September of 2021. Sai recently started chemotherapy in September of 2023 and will soon have to make numerous trips down to Rochester, MN to the Mayo Clinic for additional medical support.

<div>Their two-income household has now turned into one as Sai can no longer work and she must focus on getting better. Without the ability to work, all of her medical bills and expenses are piling up.

Celebration of Life for Sai Vu

<div>We lost our dear father Doua Moua on July 1st, 2022. He fought through two strokes but lost the battle with the third. Doua was born in Laos and came to the USA as a refugee from the war. Doua had a passion for technology. Anything that he could get his hands on, the newest and coolest gadgets, he'd want to be the first one to test it out. He had a love for filming and capturing people. He took many photographs and videos of family and friends. Video editing was one of his talents. He did it with love as he created videos for family and friends. We are grateful for those captures are what we are now blessed with. He is a man who had a massive heart of gold. He was always soft-spoken and rarely had a temper. When you hold a conversation with him and the conversation gets going, he had the best laugh where you couldn't tell if he was really laughing or choking. He was a man of many character and always full of life. Doua is a fighter. He's the strongest and stubborn because he never gives up. When he is focused on something, it's always done to perfection and he definitely passed that on to his children.

Funeral Donation for Doua Moua

<div>Hi my name is Kuma Lee. I don't even know how to begin writing this - I suppose I should just share how I feel and what I know. Aly Xiong and I have been best friends since 2008, when we met in college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. When we first clinked shot glasses at my first college house party, I knew we would be good friends for many years.

<div>Aly was 2 years older than I; while I was wrapping up my bachelor's degree, Aly was beginning her Masters's program. I eventually graduated and moved back to Minnesota; Aly soon followed a few years later - where we would reunite and continue our friendship.
</div>

<div>Together in St.Paul, we would support eachother and conquer obstacles that got in our way. Our lives were filled with adventure, self-growth, big dreams, bartending shenanigans, and everlasting friendships. Unfortunately, life likes to throw you curveballs; In May of 2020, right when the Covid Pandemic changed everyone's life, another thing changed Aly's life. Through a routine mammogram, the doctors noticed a small lump that had formed in one of Aly's breasts - we later found it to be cancer. Being the independent and empathetic person she is (she's a social worker), she kept her cancer quiet and only shared with very close friends and family. In June of the same year, she went into surgery to remove the cancer. It was a success! She now had to do 4 weeks of radiation and was prescribed hormone therapy meds, which she would have to take for the next 10 years of her life.

<div>Life was good again - she got rid of the cancer, we celebrated, and we learned how to cherish life even more! The doctors informed Aly that the chance of reoccurring cancer was very low; But even doctors can be wrong sometimes.

<div>Taking precautionary measures to ensure there was no cancer left, Aly scheduled another annual mammogram appointment in February 2022. Things did not look good, so a biopsy was done to see if there were still traces of cancer. As luck would have it, it came back positive for cancer, once again! The cancer was found in the same spot. Because the cancer reoccurred, a more aggressive approach now had to be taken.

<div>With full support from her close friends and family, and weighing all possible options, Aly bravely decided to move forward with a full mastectomy. Part of her would be removed forever.
</div>

<div>I am asking friends, family, and anyone she's connected with to help donate to this cause. I had mentioned to start a GoFundMe to help her during her first detection of cancer in May of 2020, to which she denied the offer. She has always been a kind and independent person. She does not want to worry others and always wanted to show the world she can do it by herself. It wasn't until I really asked her again, that she finally agreed that I could create this fundraiser for her - as she's my bestfriend and I wanted to show support in anyway possible.

<div>After the full mastectomy, she will undergo a full reconstructive surgery as well - in these hard times for her, I know things can get costly quick! Pre and Post operation costs can add up to a hefty amount even with the aid of insurance. Aly works as a social worker, but many of the acquaintances she has made, has been during her time working as a bartender. The funds will help go towards all surgery costs and to help her stay afloat while she recovers from surgery. The surgery is scheduled at the end of March 2022.

Help Aly kick Cancer's butt.....AGAIN!

Depression isn't something we can see or touch. Our loved ones can hide it behind a smile. We hid it behind a smile at times ourselves. This topic creates such vulnerability that many rather keep it inside for them to feel and no one to know. You can make the difference! You can make "tomorrow matter" for someone you love by donating.<br /><br />Even with all that is going on in the world, time isn't stopping for anyone. With all the negativity going around we want to give back to our community. Therefore our goal is to promote good health and prevent suicide in the community.  Sparrow wants to raise $6,000 and donate these funds to Project Tshav Ntuj.<br /><br />Project Tshav Ntuj is an advocacy group that aims to break the silences on mental health and suicide in the community through music and performance arts.<br /><br />Sparrow is an animal totem that symbolizes team work. Sparrows live in a community and work together. We are called Sparrow, Sparrow is a performance coaching program designed to give you a jump start on your goals.  We are honored to be apart of this journey and contribute to Project Tshav Ntuj's mission.<br /><br />By supporting this fundraiser, funds will be supporting Project Tshav Ntuj in multiple areas via:<br />1. Providing community resources<br />      a. Multimedia platform<br />           a. By collaborating with community artists and influencers invested in mental health to reach a broad audience on social media and at the annual event.<br />           b. Project Tshav Ntuj

With a heavy heart, we share that our beautiful sister Para Chang has passed away Thursday, December 5th 2019. She always made sure to put her family and friends before herself. Anyone that knows Para, knew she had a huge heart and God only calls his strongest soldiers. <br />No words can describe this loss. Our lives will never be the same without Para. She will be forever missed and loved by everyone. We only ask for your prayers as we continue to heal during this dark time; however we appreciate any help towards funeral expenses. <br />The Funeral date, time, and location will be posted in an update.
