What Rebecca cares about

Animals
My name is Rebecca, and I’m asking for help to get life-saving surgery for my 13-year-old dog, Gixxer, who has been by my side for over a decade. Gixxer’s cyst on his foot recently burst, and the vet has quoted around $3,000 for surgery because there is a chance they may need to remove his leg if there isn’t enough healthy skin to close the wound. Gixxer is not “just a dog” to us—he is family and has been with me through some of the hardest years of my life. For 13 years, he has been my constant companion, my comfort, and my best friend, and the thought of losing him or watching him suffer is heartbreaking. Yesterday, I took him to the vet and paid a little over $300 for them to clean and wrap the wound, but this was only temporary care. He still urgently needs surgery to remove the damaged tissue and treat the area properly so he has a real chance at healing and keeping his leg. I am doing everything I can, but I simply cannot afford this on my own. I’m a full-time caregiver for my disabled mother and pay out of pocket for weekly help so she can remain safely at home, and with our limited monthly income, there is nothing left to put toward this unexpected emergency. Every dollar raised will go directly toward Gixxer’s surgery, follow-up care, medications, and any additional treatment he needs. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser means just as much and helps us reach more people who might be able to help. Thank you for taking the time to read Gixxer’s story and for any support, prayers, or shares you can give—it truly means the world to us.
