It is hard to find the right words to describe the heartbreak of watching someone you love suffer without knowing how to fix it. My dog, Casper, is the heart of our home, but lately, his life has been defined by pain rather than play. He is currently battling a severe and aggressive skin condition that has left him covered in open sores, inflammation, and constant discomfort. Seeing him struggle to even find a comfortable way to lay down is a daily reminder of how urgent his situation has become. We have spent months trying to get ahead of this, following every piece of advice the doctors have given us. We’ve completely overhauled his diet with expensive specialty foods and run numerous tests that have unfortunately led to more questions than answers. While we have already invested everything we have into his care, the complexity of his condition means we are now facing a new round of advanced diagnostic tests and potentially a specialist dermatologist to finally get a definitive diagnosis. I am reaching out today because I have reached the limit of what I can do on my own. I refuse to let financial barriers be the reason my best friend continues to suffer, but the mounting vet bills have become overwhelming.
