 In a matter of minutes, a devastating house fire changed everything for Leanne, Pat, Hayley, Hayden, and their loved dog Bella. Their family home of nearly 20 years, where 3 generations lived and countless memories were made, is gone.

 But their greatest loss is one that no amount of money could ever replace.

 Tragically, despite Pat’s courageous efforts to save him, Leanne’s father, Tom, lovingly known as Papa, was unable to make it out of the home.

 Anyone who knows Pat knows he’s one of the biggest Notre Dame Fighting Irish fans you’ll ever meet. And that night, he truly fought like the Irish, giving everything he had to try to save his father in law, while making sure the rest of his family got to safety.

 Pat suffered serious injuries and remains in critical condition, but there is hope for his recovery. While the family grieves the loss of their Dad/ Papa, they are holding on to that hope that Pat will fully recover.

 The family lost virtually everything in the fire, escaping with barely more than the clothes on their backs. To put that into perspective, I had to go home just to get Leanne a pair of pants. They are now faced with rebuilding their lives while also making sure Bella has the care and essentials she needs.

<div>Our nephew,<strong> 18-year-old Triinabh</strong>, is a bright, kind young man whose life has been turned upside down by leukemia. He is not just a son and student—he is also the world to his 9-year-old little brother, who calls him his hero.
</div>

<div>In August 2022, Triinabh was diagnosed with <strong>B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL)</strong>. He bravely went through more than two years of chemotherapy, completing treatment in February 2025. We prayed the nightmare was behind us.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But just six months later, in September 2025, the leukemia came back. His bone marrow is now 90% filled with leukemia cells, leaving almost no room for healthy cells. His blood counts are dangerously low, and his doctors have confirmed a relapse of <strong>B-cell precursor ALL</strong>.
</div>

<div>Now, the only way forward is a <strong>three-step treatment plan</strong> at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata:

<div><strong>Re-induction Chemotherapy</strong> – CAD $20,000
</div>
<div><strong>Targeted Therapy with Blinatumomab</strong> – CAD $150,000
</div>
<div><strong>Bone Marrow Transplant</strong> – CAD $75,000

<div>Total estimated cost:<strong> CAD $250,000</strong>

<div>Unfortunately, insurance will cover only about <strong>20%</strong> of this amount. The rest must be paid out of pocket. His parents, <strong>Sudip Maiti </strong>and <strong>Oishi Maiti Das</strong>, are under <strong>tremendous financial strain</strong>. They are preparing to sell everything they own to save their child, but even that will not be enough.
