<div>Today, I am reaching out to request support for one of my dearest friends, <strong>Miqat Hasan</strong>. He was one of the brightest students of his time at BUET. Miqat has always been a kind and generous person. He loved spending hours chatting with friends and going on bike rides with no particular destination. He often tutored others and sent his earnings to his mother, while using the rest to help friends and feed those in need.

<div>Whenever relatives or friends came to Dhaka for work or study, he always offered them a place to stay—always. Over the years, he got married, had a beautiful daughter, and tried to settle down.

<div>Miqat has been living with diabetes since a very young age—over 20 years—and it has gradually damaged his kidneys. For the past six months, he has been searching for a suitable kidney donor. Doctors have now told him that dialysis and an immediate kidney transplant are his only options. Both of his kidneys are damaged, and because of his diabetes, even a transplanted kidney could be at risk if he waits too long. <strong>This is why he is deeply concerned about losing access points (fistulas/grafts) that are needed for dialysis in the future.</strong>

<div>He has been trying to find a donor through agents, but this is very expensive. Even when potential donors are found, Miqat has to pay for their medical tests and agent commissions, even if the match doesn’t work. Unfortunately, no donors in Bangladesh have met legal criteria.

<div>At this point, Pakistan is his only financially viable option for a transplant, requiring at least 20 lakh taka—a huge amount that is beyond his means. Over the last six months, he sold family land and spent what he could, but progress has been slow, and his condition is deteriorating day by day. I recently saw him on a video call, and he told me he had water in his eyes, which really hurt me to hear.

<div>Miqat’s friends from BUET may raise some funds, but it won’t be enough. With his mother recently passed away and him unable to work due to illness, his financial situation is extremely difficult.

<div>Under these circumstances, <strong>I humbly request you to donate whatever you can so Miqat can finally get the kidney transplant he desperately needs.</strong> This group has been established to help people we know—friends, relatives, or others in urgent need. We have done it before, and we can do it again.
