Ashlyn Johnson

My name is Ashlyn. I am a wife, mother, and daughter. My husband & I moved to Texas in 2022 with our 2 kids (19 & 3). My mom, moved in after suffering affects of long covid forced her to retire from nursing. My husband was laid off from his job in December 2023 and has struggled to find permanent work since. In November of 2024 my mom was diagnosed with a severe form of breast cancer. She if currently recovering from a double mastectomy surgery that she had in July of this year. We feel so blessed, but are struggling from the financial affects of everything. We received amazing news this week that our daughter was accepted to the University of Houston for the spring semester. We are beyond thrilled for her and are nor trying to balance the financial aspects of the medical bills and upcoming tuition. I am a strong woman with a strong work ethic. I work 6-7 days a week to help balance and fill in everything I can. But I need help. I refuse to not help my daughter make her dreams come true. she has conquered billing, abusive relationships, losing herself, and finally finding/loving herself and finding her way. My mom has fought the hardest battle imaginable. As a daughter I have been blessed to stand beside her during that fight. On her fixed income, the medical bills are just too much for me to handle. She feels like a burden, but I reassure her that I will figure it out and take care of it. We consider ourselves so blessed to have health restored and our daughter heading to a brighter future, we just ask that God help us see a way through it financially ….. God Bless and thank you-
