My Name is Asher Cax, and I'm a Volunteer Based in Amsterdam, Driven by a Personal Story. I’m reaching out from across borders, not just as a volunteer for CEI Charity Uganda, but as someone whose family felt the direct, life-saving impact of the very ambulance we are now striving to replace. My journey with CEI Medical Center began not in an office, but in a moment of sheer panic during the darkest days of the COVID-19 pandemic. My own dear relative, living in Mityana, faced a severe medical emergency. The hospitals were overwhelmed, resources scarce, and fear was palpable in every home. It was during this terrifying time that the CEI Medical Center ambulance became our beacon of hope. Despite the challenges, that ambulance, and the incredible team behind it, was able to reach my relative, providing the urgent transport and care that ultimately saved their life. I remember the immense relief, the gratitude that filled my heart, knowing that despite the distance, there was a dedicated team and a functional ambulance ready to serve. That ambulance was more than just a vehicle; it was a symbol of hope, a mobile guardian for the entire Mityana community. It has tirelessly served countless families, bringing critical aid to expectant mothers, accident victims, and the elderly, always putting lives first. But today, that lifeline is broken. After years of relentless service on Uganda’s challenging roads, the ambulance that saved my relative, and so many others, has finally given up. It's now beyond repair, leaving CEI Medical Center without its most crucial tool for emergency transport. The thought of another family facing a crisis without this vital service breaks my heart. This is why I, Asher Cax, have stepped up as a volunteer from abroad, dedicating my time to help raise the funds needed. I believe, from the bottom of my heart, that the people of Mityana deserve continuous access to emergency care. My Personal Plea: I know firsthand the difference a working ambulance makes. I'm asking you to join me in giving back to a community and a medical center that once gave so much to my own family. Let’s bring this essential service back to the people who need it most.
