That all changed the day I stepped into the local Jefferson County planetarium right here in Lakewood, Colorado. Seeing the unblemished night sky projected above me wasn't just an educational field trip; it was the moment I found my life’s trajectory. It gave me hope, a cosmic perspective, and a relentless drive to study the universe.

<div>Recently, the decision was made to demolish that very facility, allowing the lights to go out on Jeffco’s curiosity. But we cannot let the entropy of institutional bureaucracy steal the stars from the next generation. If the physical building is gone, we simply bypass the state machine and take the universe directly to the people.

</div>
<div>My name is Ariel Manzanares-Scisney, and I am the founder of Majesty in Monotony. Since that transformative childhood visit, I have dedicated my life to the sciences and education. I am an astrophysics graduate from the University of Colorado Boulder and have conducted research at Harvard University on the origins of life.

<div>From 2013 to 2016, I served as a planetarium director at the Fiske Planetarium in Boulder, acting as head laserist, navigating educational shows, and delivering live presentations to thousands of local space enthusiasts. I later honed these skills at the Charles-Hayden Planetarium in Boston. Over the past seven years, I have also served as a professional academic tutor, providing high-level STEM and macroeconomics mentorship to over 600 students.

<div>Kevin Havelick had just made it. He just got his Master Plumber's license, he got his Master Mechanical, he bought liability insurance, he registered and paid his licensing with the counties, he fixed his truck up, and he hit the road hard. He drummed up some business with his local ad in the paper and by getting involved in his community Facebook pages. I envied his work ethic and his freedom. When I thought he had everything in the palm of his hands, it was unfairly stripped away.

He can't drive or climb ladders, as we plumbers do every day, for 3 months at a minimum. While he was in the process of starting a company, his healthcare payments took a backseat as the mortgage takes precedence when your 2 dogs, 2 cats, and loving woman depend on you to pull your weight and provide. He has a disability insurance policy, but </span><strong style="font-family:inherit;font-size:1rem;color:inherit;">we need help keeping the lights on, the mortgage paid and getting these medical bills paid.</strong><span style="font-family:inherit;font-size:1rem;color:inherit;"> If you're a tradesman or you've ever needed a tradesman, I'm asking you to please help out someone who gave everything to benefit his community.</span>

Thank you for taking the time to look at this page. My partner Chris received an official diagnosis for oral sarcoma on his hard palate, something that has come as a shock to us, he is only 28. Sarcomas are fleshy, cancerous masses that grow on bone and connective tissues. I can't say it's been easy to watch evolve over the past several months, as what started as just an infection of sorts from a bad tooth that had to be removed became the cancer he has now. The Chris I know is bright and sharp and witty; he's outgoing and full of energy. Maybe you know him from his years performing comedy all over Orlando, or maybe more recently as a regular performer at the charity events ran by Orlando Story Club. He has always had a drive to tell a story and connect to others, and now that has slipped away. His daily life has become a battle against this cancer, and he needs all the help he can get. Often he wakes up after little bursts of fitful, feverish sleep. He can barely talk at times, and I know he hates that. He can't work, and his ability to manage some basic things we all take for granted have been taken from him. Eating is his hardest struggle, as the cancer is in his mouth. He's lost over 40 pounds. It's hard to see him need pain management the way he does, but to get out of the house and make it through the day with as much pain as he is in, he has no choice. Waiting for his meds to kick in so that we can capitalize on that hour of functionality has become an unfortunate reality.<br /><br />Illnesses can sneak up on you out of nowhere. And as a young person, your first instinct is to manage instead of entering the scary world of healthcare and insurance - especially when one is a barrier to the other. We've sat in chilly waiting rooms for hours, for entire days, only to be turned away due to lack of insurance. The people who can cure him, who could really help (and would!) are being closely guarded by for-profit bureaucracy. Recently a doctor a prominent cancer clinic in Orlando has been in contact, and one of the oncologists feels confident he can beat this cancer. Now we just need to get Chris in the room with him.<br /><br />We have a diagnosis. We have the biopsy results and the CT scans. We have to start the fight now.<br /><br />Your donation will help turn the tide from manage to treat — even to cure — the man I love. We’re so incredibly lucky to have found doctors who are willing to work with us and a dawn is finally starting to glitter on the horizon. It’s cheesy to say, but every little bit helps. It could mean the difference between making that copay and having to do without, having to manage again.  He has dreaded asking for help in this way, any way really. I know he struggles with letting things get this bad, and I know he is scared of what is to come. That's why I am making this page, because I know he needs this help so much, but doesn't know how to ask.<br /><br />This is a type of cancer that can be treated. We've caught it early enough where if we hop on board with treatment, it can be only mildly invasive. Waiting any longer could mean entire facial reconstruction to remove the tumor. It's time to act. Help Chris Beat Cancer!

I never thought I’d have to do this.. My dad, Jerry, is fighting for his life! He recently had a stroke, by taking him into the hospital, further testing revealed that he is in liver failure. He is a true fighter! He is so strong and so resilient! My dad was given a 1 in 5 chance of living 90 days, today is day 88! He has been fighting so hard, going through procedure after procedure. He has  a G.I. Doctor, an internal medicine doctor, a cancer doctor and every doctor and nurse he’s had the pleasure of meeting in Littleton and St. Anthony’s hospital! My mom and I are working endlessly with the help of loved ones and friends to maintain the restaurant and the every day in-between of our every day lives!  My dad has not worked for over 3 months and we have endless medical bills! My dad has had some setbacks, he has had several hospital stays and has been in the hospital for the last 4 days! We are creating this fundraiser for my dad because in less than a month he will be eligible for a liver transplant! My dad is the co owner of Maria Elena’s Mexican Restaurant and he has been unable to help my mom with the overwhelming responsibility of keeping the business afloat. They have owned their  business for 35 years and they are struggling financially because they do not have a 401K or other benefits to fall back on. We are keeping my dad in very high spirits because we will fight this! Anything helps and we love you all so very much! ❤️

We have an <strong>exciting</strong> postseason coming up for the CU Equestrian team! <br />Our English team is sending a team to Stanford to represent region 5 at Zones in April.
