What they care about

We’re emerging filmmakers who poured everything into these stories. Now we’re raising the final funds to finish postproduction and bring our films to festivals

Hi, I’m Alex Gross, producer of Over Again, a short film created by a team of emerging filmmakers at the University of North Texas and directed by Garrett Bell Brenner. Over Again follows a struggling actor caught in a cycle that thousands of artists know all too well: audition, rejection, repeat. It’s a story about failure, friendship, performance, and finding the courage to put yourself out there one more time—even when you have no guarantee that this time will be any different. After months of planning, production, long days on set, and the work of an incredible cast and crew, we shot the film. We edited the film. And now we’re approaching the final stage. Our goal is to take Over Again beyond the classroom and give it a genuine film festival run. That final push costs money. Funds raised through this campaign will help us complete the professional finishing work the film still needs, including sound editing and mixing, original scoring and music, final editorial and visual polish, festival-ready deliverables, and film festival submission fees. We aren’t asking you to fund an idea that might someday become a movie. The movie exists. Your donation helps us take something our cast and crew already worked incredibly hard to create and finish it at the level we believe their work deserves. Our goal is $2,500, and every contribution gets us closer. $10 can help cover part of a festival submission. $25 or $50 can help us enter another festival or cover finishing expenses. Larger contributions allow us to invest directly in the artists and professionals helping us complete the film. And if you can’t donate, please share the campaign. Getting this in front of someone who loves movies, acting, independent filmmaking, or supporting emerging artists can make just as much of a difference. There’s something fitting about a movie called Over Again getting one more shot. Help us give it that shot. — Alex Gross Producer, Over Again
Sometimes the right person comes at the wrong time. Hi, I’m Alex Gross, producer of From Winter to Spring, a short film written and directed by the wonderful Ally Kirton and brought to life by an incredible group of emerging filmmakers at the University of North Texas. From Winter to Spring is a story about friendship, timing, growing up, and the love that can quietly exist between two people before either of them is ready to recognize it. The film follows longtime friends Margo and Derrick across years of birthdays, relationships, missed opportunities, and moments where they almost realize that the person they’ve been looking for may have been beside them all along. For months, our cast and crew gave their time, creativity, and energy to make this story real. And we did it. The film has been shot. Now we’re asking for help with something equally important: giving it a life after production. We want From Winter to Spring to leave the classroom and reach audiences through film festivals, but getting a completed production festival-ready requires professional finishing work and submission costs that extend beyond our original student production budget. Our $2,500 goal will help cover the film's remaining post-production needs, including professional sound work, music, final editing and color polish, mastering and festival deliverables, and submission fees for our festival run. This isn't a fundraiser to someday make From Winter to Spring. The story already exists because dozens of people came together and believed it was worth making. This fundraiser is about making sure all of that work gets the finish and the audience that it deserves. Whether you contribute $5, $20, $50, or more, you're directly helping an emerging group of filmmakers take one of our first major projects beyond school and into the larger filmmaking world. And if donating isn't possible, sharing this campaign is support too. Send it to someone who loves movies, romance, independent filmmaking, or simply wants to help young filmmakers get their work seen. We took From Winter to Spring from words on a page to an actual film. Now help us take it from our screen to the festival screen. — Alex Gross Producer, From Winter to Spring
