Tyrone and I wanted to share this for our friends Courtney and Joe Sholtes and their boys, Remy and Kane. We have known Courtney and Joe for most of our lives, and if you know them, you know they are two of the first people to show up when someone needs help.

A few weeks ago, during a routine screening, doctors found a mass in Courtney's chest. After surgery and several biopsies, she was diagnosed with large B cell lymphoma, an aggressive but highly treatable form of non Hodgkin lymphoma. She will be starting several months of chemotherapy soon with the goal of curing her cancer.

Courtney is a Labor and Delivery nurse who has spent her career caring for moms and babies during some of the biggest moments of their lives. Joe works as a public safety dispatcher with the Town of Colonie Police Department, helping first responders and members of our community every day.

As you can imagine, this diagnosis has turned life upside down for their family. Courtney will likely need to step away from work while she goes through treatment, which means a significant loss of income at the same time they are facing appointments and the many unexpected expenses that come with a cancer diagnosis, all while raising two young boys.

Anyone who knows Courtney and Joe knows they would never ask for help themselves, so we wanted to share this on their behalf. If you are able to donate, any amount will help ease some of the financial stress and allow them to focus on what matters most right now, Courtney getting better and spending time with Remy, Kane, and Joe. And if donating is not possible, sharing this fundraiser and keeping the Sholtes family in your thoughts would mean just as much. Thank you for supporting a family that has spent so much of their lives supporting others.

Help the Sholtes Family Through Courtney's Cancer Treatment

Two days before Christmas, my daughter Christa Touzin and my grandson Jeffrey experienced a devastating fire in their apartment. The fire started in the kitchen and quickly spread, leaving them without a home and causing them to lose nearly all of their belongings. This tragedy struck at a time when families are meant to be together, making it even more heartbreaking for Christa and Jeffrey.

Christa is a single mother who has always put Jeffrey first, doing everything she can to provide him with a safe and loving home. Now, they are faced with the challenge of starting over from scratch. The money raised through this fundraiser will help Christa secure a new place to live and replace the essentials they lost—beds, furniture, clothing, and other necessities that make a house a home.

Anything you can give will make a difference. Christa is a wonderful, caring person who does not deserve this hardship. If you know her, you know how much she loves her son and how strong she is in the face of adversity. Thank you for your kindness and support during this difficult time. Your generosity will help Christa and Jeffrey rebuild and find hope again.

Lung Transplant Recovery Support

Dear Friends , Family, and Kind Hearted Supporters,

I am reaching out on behalf of a family member, Aldo Futia, who has just faced the biggest challenge of his life - a life saving Lung Transplant.

After a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis, Aldo was finally approved for a transplant. This is a miracle we've prayed for, but it comes with overwhelming financial burdens that our family cannot manage alone.

After bravely fighting through the lung transplant, Aldo now faces the next big step — relocating for specialized recovery care (routine bloodwork and scans requiring constant monitoring and close proximity to specialists).

Additionally, as Aldo continues recovering, the road ahead remains steep. One essential pill alone costs over $1,100 each month — and it’s not covered by insurance. These aren’t optional; they’re vital to keeping Aldo’s new lungs healthy and preventing rejection. Your support helps lift the overwhelming financial weight of recovery, allowing Aldo to focus on healing, breathing, and living fully again. Every contribution makes a real difference — thank you for helping make this second chance at life possible.

Your support will help ease the burden of this transition, providing stability, comfort, and hope during healing. Every donation, big or small, brings Aldo closer to breathing easier and rebuilding life after transplant. Thank you for standing beside him on this journey.

Your support will go directly toward Aldo for the following :

Co-pays and out of pocket medical expenses

Life sustaining medications (many of which are not covered by insurance)

Temporary housing housing in New York City

Transportation to and from medical appointments

Your kindness not only eases financial strain — it reminds Aldo they’re not alone or hopeless on this journey. If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this page — it truly helps spread the word.

Jamie is a 47 year old strong, brave, selfless, loving father, friend, and brother that would do anything to help someone out...He has 2 beautiful children, Jacob and Jillian and a beautiful girlfriend, kim who he adores.

On July 30, 2021, Jamie heard the words you never want to hear, "You. Have. Cancer." He had been feeling discomfort over the last couple of months, lost weight an was having problems using the restroom so he made an appointment with his doctor. They sent him for a colonoscopy which revealed a large cancerous mass. The MRI revealed that it is rectal cancer; it could be stage 3 or 4. The doctors won’t know until after surgery.

Jamie's children and girlfriend, Kim are his world. He loves spending time with his kids, enjoys the great outdoors, enjoys fishing, being in nature, or just going for walks. This diagnosis is very unexpected, and he has a long road ahead.

Treatment plans have been finalized. The doctors are planning to use chemotherapy to reduce the size of the tumor. Following this treatment, Jamie will have surgery to remove what remains as well as a combination of radiation and more chemo treatments. This will be at least a year-long process.

We do not know all the details, especially the costs. Jamie has just started his fight and the bills are already coming in.....

Jamie is in need of our help during the most trying and difficult time of his life. He is a fighter, and although his world has been turned upside down, he has been so brave throughout it all. Jamie is ready to fight and beat this cancer! Please help our dear friend/brother as he battles this terrible disease. All funds raised will go directly to him. Any amount, large or small, will help and is greatly appreciated.

If you are unable to donate, please help us by sharing this page with others. Something that is very encouraging for Jamie during this time is reading your written prayers, words of encouragement, memories, and well-wishes.
