Karon ( the aunt) is raising funds for <strong>Kiara Bowling</strong> after a devastating accident changed Kiara’s life. Kiara was hit by a vehicle being driven by youth under 10 years old, and the injuries from that incident have created a long and difficult road ahead. This fundraiser is being created to help Kiara through the challenges that follow such a traumatic event and to make sure support is there during this painful and uncertain time.

<div>My brother Dave Campbell is 58 years old and one of the best people I know. He’s the kind of person who, when he’s talking to you, makes you feel like you’re the only person in the room. He asks the right questions. He actually listens to the answers. He gives advice that turns out to be exactly right, usually years before you realize it. He has this smile that just gets you — warm and a little mischievous — and when Dave laughs, everyone around him laughs too.

<div> He’s also a die-hard Steelers and Pirates fan, which tells you something about his character: he’s fiercely loyal even when it’s hard. Dave built his life with his hands in the Colorado mountains — painting homes in the summer, plowing roads in the winter, taking care of his community in South Park County the way he takes care of everyone he loves: quietly, reliably, without ever asking for anything back. He has been his own boss, his own crew, his own everything for years. That’s who Dave is. This spring, Dave was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer. The cancer has spread to his lymph nodes and multiple sites in his bones. He has already been through an emergency hospitalization, radiation treatments, and is now beginning an aggressive course of chemotherapy at a leading Denver cancer center. His doctors are moving fast because Dave is young and strong and the cancer is treatable. He is in the fight of his life, and he is fighting.
