I’m swimming 5 miles to support the American Cancer Society in memory of my dad, Raul “Ralph” Pimentel, who lost his battle with cancer at just 61 years old, and in honor of my sister, whose survival and resilience continue to inspire me.
Cancer has touched my family in ways that will never be forgotten. Losing my dad far too soon changed our lives forever. Watching my sister face cancer with courage and resilience has been a powerful reminder of the strength of the human spirit.
Every lap I swim is for those we’ve lost, those still fighting, the survivors, and the families who walk beside them every step of the way.
My goal is to raise $1,000 to help fund cancer research, patient support, and lifesaving programs through the American Cancer Society. If you’re able to make a donation or simply share my fundraiser, I would be deeply grateful.
Thank you for helping me honor my dad’s memory, celebrate my sister’s journey, and bring hope to others facing cancer.
One lap at a time.
With gratitude,
Anita Pimentel
