Our family’s journey to the United States was sudden and filled with uncertainty. We came here for a better and safer future for our kids, but had to leave South Africa under asylum, and in the rush, we couldn’t bring our beloved German Shepherd, Mia, with us. She was too young to travel at the time, and leaving her behind was one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever made. Since December 2025, our family has felt incomplete without her. Mia isn’t just a dog—she’s a loving, sweet, and protective member of our family who brings us so much joy and comfort. Her gentle nature and friendly spirit have always made our home brighter, and her absence is deeply felt by all of us, especially our children. We’ve already had to say goodbye to our two schnauzers, who were with us for nearly 12 years, and the thought of losing Mia too is unbearable. She’s almost 10 months old now and ready to travel, but we simply don’t have the funds to bring her here as we start over from scratch in a new country. The funds raised will go directly toward agency fees, travel expenses from South Africa to the US, a connecting flight to Phoenix, and all necessary handling fees. We are honest, caring people, and asking for help is not easy for us. But Mia is family, and we are desperate to be reunited with her. We just want Mia to be part of this new chapter and safer future for our kids. Your support will help us bring her home where she belongs. If you’re able to donate or share our story, it would mean the world to us. Thank you for helping us bring Mia home and for being part of our journey.
