Hi everyone. If you know and love Eva, please take some time to share kind words of support and encouragement. Complications have come up and their pain levels and their depression is at the lowest.
It's been two months since the transplant, and while there have been a lot of positives and steps in the right direction, Eva is currently going through one of the toughest times. We're in a holding pattern over the long weekend until the doctors can run some tests on Tuesday to figure out exactly what's wrong, so if you're able, please share words of encouragement with us now.
The bone marrow transplant is 100% my cells and we had a "success" in that regard – there have been other complications that have come up – primarily the long and complicated road to recovery from the mycobacterium.
This cancer has really been feeling like two steps forward three steps back. It's been hard to eat (it feels as if it's harder than during chemo) and hard to still deal with the coughing that has not gone away, and now there has been more immediate body aches and liver pain that the doctors are uncertain about what is causing. Eva has been struggling with their faith.
Please send some words of encouragement. They could use a reminder of what else to look forward to.
If you would like the address to send a letter to the hospital or a care package, message me privately. Other than that, please consider additionally donating if you haven't yet, or venmo-ing @Eva-Marciano directly. We're trying to ignite Eva's joy again.
We're also looking for any and all travel tips or stories from your travels to Japan, as that's on our year + bucket list.
I've also been meaning to share more about how easy the bone marrow transplant was for me as a donor, (literally my period cramps that month were worse) and why I highly encourage everyone to register and donate – expect more on that later.
I wish the update was better, and thank you all for your continued support.
Cancer sucks, in case you didn't know. I wouldn't wish this journey on even my worst enemies.
