It is now becoming difficult for me to support my family and my elderly parents, whom I have been separated from, as I worry about survival whilst continuing to rescue my people in the area that I am in.

EMERGENCY TO EVACUATE MY FAMILY

<div>Gaza, my beloved home is completely destroyed. My family’s house was in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood. They had to leave it very suddenly on a Friday almost 6 months ago now.

<div>On October 13, the army threatened to evacuate the north. To find more safety, my family evacuated their home and headed to the south, with only their clothes and important papers. They thought it would perhaps last a week and then they could go home. But what's been temporary bare survival is now what they are faced with every day. They took shelter in my aunt’s house in Khan Younes. But then they stormed Khan Younes. They lived a terrifying night and were surrounded by tanks. They managed to escape and make the 5km walk to Rafah by the beach, with the children and what they could take. Now they are living in tents in Rafah, which is under threat of attack. There is no other place to escape to if they storm the city of Rafah. They are all on top of each other there, camping 24/7 now after a long winter.

<div>The war has stripped us of any sense of safety, crucial medical care, and the warmth of their home, leaving them vulnerable to the elements and the uncertainties of having had to move over 3 times.

<div>My father is battling a coronary artery blockage, and my mother suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes. Right now, they can’t get the necessary medical care because of the ongoing onslaught on Gaza and the little medical capacity that remains.
</div>

<div>The situation is growing more desperate with each passing day, as the bombardments around Rafah and all across the Strip are relentless.
</div>

</div>
<div>I had been running his own new-build apartment cleaning business while also washing carpets and sofas. All his equipment was destroyed by a missile strike.

</div>
<div>My younger brother, Amjad, a promising student and freelance designer, Amjad, loved learning very much. He had a passion for programming and design. He taught himself graphic design, like his big sister and was working as a freelancer at the age of 16. This year he was supposed to finish high school and move on to university, but the unexpected happened. Now, he is helping provide for the family and making sure there is water, woods and helping my mother knead the flour and bake it for bread. That's when flour can be found.

<div>The cost per person to be able to register with a travel company to leave Gaza via Rafah costs 5,000 USD per adult and 2,500 USD per child under 14 years old.

Even if some medications were available to him, their price is approximately $100, so we cannot buy them for him.

Watermelon Relief: Aid for Displaced Families in Gaza

<div>At the beginning of this summer, my brother (Rizk Albayari) fulfilled his dream of opening the family’s own café, and he chose -ward (flower). But the war in Gaza did not afford this attempt too long, as “Ward” was uprooted and became a pile of sand with the beginning of the ground invasion of Gaza last November. Three months were enough to end the dream, end the hope, and to close my family’s source of income in Gaza.

<div>Khan Yunis is the new central for the Israeli military operation. The only hope we have now is our attempts to evacuate the family from Gaza. To do so we need to collect some money, we will use this money as the following:

<div>The majority of the funds, which amount to<strong> €60,000</strong>, are necessary to cover the expenses associated with obtaining permits to leave Gaza and the required crossing fees at the borders between Egypt and Gaza in Rafah. This amount can reach up to <strong>€5,000 per adult person</strong> (above 12 years old) and <strong>€2500 </strong>for each child.

Rekindling Hope: A Fundraising Call

<div>A few years ago, I illustrated Palestininian and Israeli women about their experiences living in war through an NGO The <em>Political is Personal</em>. I drew Hanan and how she helped a woman give birth as Israel rained bombs down on them. Now, I'm helping her flee Gaza as life has become impossible in this genocide.

<div>Hanan is an extraordinary person. She's a paramedic/EMT and has spent her entire life helping others. She's been on the front line as a medical technician during several wars. She's witnessed terrible things and has helped people survive and heal. Most recently, she's worked for Glia, a company that prints low cost 3D medical equipment for countries such as Ukraine and Palestine.

<div>Hanan has a son, Omar, who is one years old. She says: "I love the laugh of my only son Omar. this is the thing I love most in this life." She had him after five years of marriage and is terrified of losing him.

<div>Because of the genocide, she has no other choice and is trying to bring her children out of the country to Egypt. It's extremely expensive to leave Gaza since each person has to pay up to $10,000 USD/person at the border of Egypt. This is completely out of reach for most Palestinians who have been out of work for months and never earned that much to begin with.

<div>On Saturday, May 6th, Cindy, Kyu, William and James Cho visited the Allen outlet mall together in North Texas. William just celebrated his 6th birthday 4 days prior and James is 3. An afternoon that should have been filled with light, love and celebration unfortunately was cut short by another mass shooting massacre that left 8 victims dead. Cindy, Kyu and three year old James were among those victims that tragically lost their lives and the family is in deep mourning. After being released from the ICU, their six year old son William is the only surviving member of this horrific event.

<div>My name is RowVaughn Wells. I am the mother of Tyre Nichols. My son, Tyre Nichols, was pulled over for suspected “reckless driving” on January 7, 2023. There is no evidence to substantiate this claim. Further, police claim that my son left the scene on foot. It turns out that he was just trying to get to my house for safety -- which was only a few blocks away from where the incident happened. My baby was just trying to make it home to be safe in my arms. Tyre was unarmed, nonthreatening, and respectful to police during the entire encounter!

His cousin who saw him in the hospital, swollen and disfigured, like “he was a scary monster.”

I don’t want us burning up our cities, and tearing up the streets because that’s not what my son stood for.

In Memory of Diana Tom

<div>On Saturday, January 21, 2023, my wife Shally attend a Lunar New Year Party at Star Dance Studio in Monterey Park, California. When the shooting happened, Yu (Andy) Kao, 72, protected my wife by taking the bullet for her.

<div>After a long awaited time, we received the news he had passed away and is among the 11 victims from the Monterey Park mass shooting. We are currently heartbroken and mourning the loss of our wonderful friend. One day he’s here, the next day he isn’t. We kindly ask that the community for any help that we may bury him in peace. We frequently shared meals together as a family while sharing funny stories. He was always there to lend an ear to and to put a smile on our faces. He will truly be missed.

Texas Elementary School Shooting Victims Fund

<p><strong>UPDATE: WE ARE RAISING MORE MONEY TO ALLOW THE PLANES TO KEEP DOING MORE TURNS.</strong><br /><br />We are coming to you in desperation to conduct an <strong>emergency flight rescue</strong> of 300+ Afghan souls. I have been working alongside humanitarian aid groups, decorated military veterans, and activists on the ground in Kabul, fighting to save people who otherwise have no chance at survival in the Taliban-occupied Kabul.<br /><br />The individuals in question are high-value targets - Afghan men and women who have worked as human rights lawyers, champions of Women’s and LGBTQ rights, journalists, government liaisons, artists, and interpreters - all of whom are at <strong>imminent risk of being executed by the Taliban,</strong> along with their families. We will be taking full family units.<br /><br />If these people do not get rescued as soon as possible, neither they nor their family will make it through the month. The Taliban have a KILL LIST and are going door to door, searching for these people and reportedly <strong>killing them on sight if found</strong>. Every one of these individuals on the manifest have been vetted.<br /><br />Due to the rapidly deteriorating situation in Kabul, this rescue mission will only be possible if $550,000 is raised to fuel 2 airplanes to fly into Kabul from a foreign country.  <strong>If we raise twice the amount ($1,100,000), we’ll do another run. There are enough people in need to make many round-trips with our two airplanes. We will continue multiplying as goals are met. </strong><br /><br />With help from people on the ground in Kabul, and the newfound security of the airport due to increased US presence — we have arranged for a <strong>safe onboarding process</strong>. FLYAWAY: EMERGENCY AFGHAN RESCUE MISSION

Michelle Shepherd and her family received some very challanging news this week when their 8yr old daughter Emerson was diagnosed with leukemia suddenly.  As coworkers in the OR family and friends we wanted to start this fundraiser as a way to help the family with upcoming needs they will face.  I can’t explain what has happened any better then Michelle can in her own words and post so I will share.<br /><br />On 1/28 Michelle writes..<br />For my friends and family I would like to share what started as terrible news, Emerson was diagnosed with Leukemia very suddenly yesterday. It has been a rough, emotional, fear driven 24 hours. I say that it started as terrible but after some time processing and praying I will now say that it is promising. I believe that we will get through this, that God is good and that he is in control and that she will be healed. In everything God has purpose, and I refuse to let this trial take us. Emm Is Stronger than Leukemia

Two days before Christmas Emily Thu nearly lost her life in a car accident. She was driving from Maine to New Hampshire for the holiday when she hit a patch of black ice, lost control of her vehicle and smashed into the guard rail. The guardrail failed to function properly, slicing through the car. Emily’s right foot was amputated, her left leg and pelvis were severely broken, and her spine was fractured. She lost half the blood in her body. She was lucky to survive. <br />She is in the hospital, in pain and traumatized, and is facing a long, exhausting journey of physical therapy and other rehabilitation to learn how to walk again. Emily is a pre-medical student with plans of becoming a cardiologist. She works a full-time job to pay her own way through college. The last thing Emily needs is to worry about is the incredible amount of hospital bills she is now facing, so I’m asking you to please donate to her cause.<br />Emily is an incredible person and one of the most giving people you will ever meet. She has worked with kids with autism, special needs and troubled backgrounds at Crotched Mountain School, and became a mental health rehab professional when she moved to Orono because she wanted to keep helping people who need support. Now it is our turn to help her. <div>The Port Macquarie Koala Hospital has been overwhelmed by the kindness, good wishes and support from the Australian and international community for the wildlife icon, the koala.

<div>The Port Macquarie Koala Hospital, and National Parks and Wildlife Service crew leaders, have spent weeks searching for koalas following the devastating bush fires in the Port Macquarie area. To date, 31 koalas have been brought to the hospital from several fire grounds.

<div>On admittance to the hospital, a koala is rehydrated and then the following day examined for burns which are treated with burns cream before they are bandaged. The dressings are changed every three days.

<div>Initially, the hospital’s aim was to raise money to purchase and distribute automatic drinking stations which will be installed in the burnt areas to help in koala and wildlife survival.

<div>The number of drinking stations being built has now been increased and they will be shared with other wildlife organisations in fire affected regions across New South Wales. Two are being built for dispatch to the northern rivers fire area next week.

<div>We are also purchasing a water carrying vehicle with fire fighting capabilities to replenish the drinking stations with water as needed.

<div>In what is a national tragedy, the bushfires in and around Port Macquarie in November, devastated a genetically diverse koala population. As many as 350 koalas have perished with approximately 75% of the fireground footprint being prime koala habitat.

<div>Some of the funds raised through the Go Fund Me site will be directed to building a ‘Koala Ark’, a facility to allow the surviving koalas to be accommodated in a healthy habitat area. Hopefully, these koalas will breed and a new population of koalas will be established for return to the wild.

Today we witnessed the most beautiful and unconditional love. Rex the héroe dog, a member of our family risked his life and took three gunshots as he protected his human best friend , his master, his brother while their house got vandalized with them inside. Today mid afternoon my cousin Julia Cadena’s house was broken into by two lowlifes who terrorized my 16 year old nephew ( Julia’s son) and his German Sheppard, Rex. My nephew hid in the bedroom closet as he frightened, held as hard as he could to his barking Dog. Rex’s instinct to protect his home and his best friend, took him downstairs and he attacked the burglars. Both of the burglars struggled and beat him up with whatever they could. Rex stormed back to the upstairs floor all beat up and bloody from the beating to check on his master who was still hiding in the closet. Soon, the burglars proceeded to the upstairs floor and trashed all the bedrooms. As they entered the room where my nephew was hiding in the closet, Rex came out with the little strength he had left in him and threw himself at them as he knew my nephew was in danger. Sadly they shot Rex 4 times and finally Rex, the héroe dog gave up in his battle. It was the sirens who scared them away. My nephew was protected by his eternal friend until the last bit of strength he had in him to do what his unconditional, loving instinct told him to. Rex’s life depends on a surgery he will need to survive. My cousin Julia Cadena has already paid a big sum of money as Rex needed a lot of scans and X-rays and other urgent medicine work up to stabilize him. Every dollar helps. Please, our family can not let Rex the hero dog go without us fighting as hard as he did, to his very last bit of a strength while protecting my nephew. Thank you for your help.
