What they care about

I care about fair and appropriate education for students who have disabilities and those that are learning English as a second language.

My name is Anelys, and I have dedicated my career to serving low-income families in the public school system since 2013. Despite my hard work and commitment, I am struggling under the weight of student loans that have become a huge burden on my life. Each month, I make payments, but most of it goes toward interest, making it feel impossible to get ahead. This financial strain has made it difficult for me to provide the stability and opportunities I want for my 15-year-old daughter. As a single parent, I know firsthand the challenges of making ends meet. Growing up, I was the oldest of three siblings and often helped my mother with household responsibilities, translating documents, working, and caring for my siblings. I graduated high school and college with honors, never imagining I would face such a heavy financial burden as an adult. Now, with high rent and other expenses, homeownership feels out of reach, and I worry about being able to help my daughter achieve her dreams without passing on the same struggles I have faced. Receiving support through this fundraiser would mean the world to us. It would help me work toward homeownership, reduce my monthly payments, and allow me to save for my daughter's college fund. I also hope to create special memories with her, like taking a vacation to Universal Studios and helping her purchase a reliable used vehicle. Any amount you can donate will be greatly appreciated and will go a long way to alleviate our situation. May GOD bless those who support us—I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and generosity.
