My name is Amy, and I am reaching out for support as I work to rebuild my life after a very challenging journey. I was incarcerated for five years, and since coming home, I have faced rejection from more than five job interviews because of my background. I am now 11 months into recovery and living in a recovery house, but I am struggling to meet my everyday needs. When I returned home, I also discovered that my husband of almost ten years had moved on with someone else, leaving me with nothing and making the process of starting over even more difficult.
Despite these challenges, I am committed to my recovery and to building a better future. I attend church every Sunday—only missing when I am sick, and then I join the service online. I work hard every day by going to groups and classes to maintain my recovery and stay on the right path. The funds raised here will help me cover essentials like clothes, bras, shoes, and hygiene products as I work to get back on my feet and regain stability in my life.
Your support would mean the world to me. It would not only help me meet my basic needs, but also build my self-esteem and self-worth. Most importantly, it would remind me that I am not alone in this world and that there are people who care and want to help. Thank you for considering supporting my journey. Any help you can give is deeply appreciated.
