<div>Last Saturday evening, March 26, Eun Hee Chang was walking home in Elmhurst when a group of three men came up behind her, brutally stabbed her in the back, and stole her purse. In shock, and not realizing she had been stabbed, she ran inside Louie’s Pizzeria for help. Heroically, Louie and his father, Cazim, chased down two of the criminals and were both stabbed as well while holding them down. Police arrived and arrested the two men, but amidst the chaos, Ms. Chang slipped away and went home.

<div>It was only when her landlord saw her bleeding heavily from her back, that she realized she had been stabbed and went to the hospital. She had surgery to treat the stab wound, but afraid of missing work, she left the hospital and reported to her job the very next day.

<div>Ms. Chang works as a home health aide in the Bronx and Brooklyn, physical work that involves lifting and assisting older and disabled people, cooking, and cleaning. Showing incredible strength and humility, she has been working almost constantly since being attacked, resisting any of the attention that has come from this incredible story. Help the victim of the Louie's Pizza stabbing

<div>Many Jackson Heights/Elmhurst residents know and love Louie's Pizza on Baxter Ave. for the delicious food and friendly staff. Louie's stayed open throughout the pandemic, providing much-needed energy and sustenance to the heroic workers of nearby Elmhurst hospital, not to mention delivering countless meals to those of us sheltering at home. We knew the owners were heroes, but the bravery and heroism they showed last night was truly off the charts.

<div>Last night, a group of three men stabbed and robbed a 61 year old Korean woman in front of Louie's, and the owner, Louie Suljovic, and his father, Cazim, rushed outside and intervened. Horrifically, they were both stabbed multiple times while subduing two of the attackers. In spite of their serious injuries, they managed to hold them down until the police arrived and arrested them. Louie and Cazim are both recovering in nearby Elmhurst hospital, the very place they helped support during the worst days of the Covid pandemic.

Glori Lee, a 3rd grader in the Norwood Public School, was in a tragic car accident on January 2nd 2019. We are raising money to assist the recovery of Glori Lee.
