I am reaching out today on behalf of my extremely hard-working older sister, Cindy. Earlier this week, her life was completely turned upside down when she was in a bad car accident that completely totaled her vehicle. Thankfully, she is physically okay, but the loss of her car has left her family in a truly desperate situation. Cindy is a loving single mother to seven children (ages 13 to 25). Six of them still live at home, and several of her children are on the autism spectrum. Caring for her family is her entire world, and she has been working tirelessly to provide for them. After years of barely making ends meet, Cindy was finally starting to get ahead financially. To make this happen, she has been piecing together an income by working as a caregiver for local families in need—a role that requires significant driving across the extremely congested region where she lives, south of Orlando, Florida. The only way she can continue to bring in income is with reliable transportation. Cindy has spent her life caring for others, both in her own home and in the community. She is so close to reaching her goals and standing entirely on her own feet, but without a reliable vehicle, her world has come to a grinding halt: • She can't get to the caregiving jobs that keep food on the table. This doesn't just hurt her family—it means the local families who rely on her for caregiving services are now left without her help, too. • She can no longer drive her children to their essential therapy appointments and doctor visits. She usually has at least a half-dozen appointments a week to make sure her kids' special needs are being met. • Simple tasks like grocery shopping for a large household become very difficult. Cindy is the kind of person who always finds a way to make things work. She doesn't ask for handouts; she just wants to work hard, serve her community, and care for her kids. But this is a hurdle she simply can't get over without our help! Every single dollar raised will go directly toward helping recover from this crisis: 1. Securing a reliable, used vehicle for her family's needs. 2. Covering immediate transport costs (like rideshares) so her kids don't miss medical appointments and she can still get to her caregiving clients while we look for a car. 3.
