My name is Veronica, and I am creating this fundraiser for myself, my husband, and our household after a traffic stop with the Lake County Sheriff's Department turned our lives upside down. We were stopped while driving, and my husband was then detained by ICE. I was also detained during the incident, and our vehicle was impounded, leaving our family in an even deeper crisis. Since that day, everything has felt uncertain and overwhelming, and I am doing everything I can to get my husband home safely.

 This has been especially devastating for our family because we have an autistic son who needs his dad and keeps asking for him. I am also deeply worried about my husband’s health. He has congestive heart failure and needs daily medication, and it is terrifying to know he has been without the care and medicine he depends on. On top of the emotional pain, we are now facing urgent legal costs for both of us, bond, the expense of getting our vehicle out of impound, and basic household needs while we fight to bring him home.

Help Bring My Husband Back Home

I am raising funds for <strong>Sandy</strong>, my African Spurred tortoise and my child. I got her when she was only three months old, and now she is 6 going on 7. I have cared for her since she was smaller than the size of my palm, and I have always dreamed of growing old with my gigantic tortoise. I have loved every moment with her. She is such a wonderful pet and child to have, and I would not trade her for anything in the world. Recently, Sandy was attacked by a neighbor’s dog and bitten multiple times. She suffered serious wounds, with exposed tissue and bone, and now she needs emergency veterinary care right away. Her treatment includes X-rays, antibiotics, and stitches, and I am doing everything I can to get her the help she needs to heal.

 Seeing her like this makes me feel awful and very sad, and I cannot even believe I am typing this. I just want to support her the best I can. These funds will help cover Sandy’s emergency vet bills and support her recovery afterward. They will also help me create a safer enclosure so no other animal can hurt her again, provide fresh vegetables, and make sure she has a comfortable place to stay indoors while I watch over her healing. I will also need supplies like diapers and bandages to help care for her during recovery. My emergency savings were already used for my own emergency surgery, and now I have a screw in my hand, so this fundraiser will help me continue supporting Sandy the best I can. I know how it is to live with pain, and with your help I will be able to support her healing and make sure Sandy does not have to feel uncomfortable ever again. Thank you for your time and support.

Help Sandy Heal After Dog Attack

I’m Teresa, and I’m asking for help during one of the hardest times in my life. I am losing my eyesight, and it has reached a point where I can no longer see well enough to work. While I wait for eye surgery, I have been doing everything I can to hold on, but I am struggling to keep up with basic bills, especially my electric bill. My brother has been helping as much as he can by covering my electric bill for the last two months and part of this month, but he can’t afford to keep doing that. My father is also dealing with financial challenges of his own and is not in a position to help.

 The support from this fundraiser will help me keep my electricity on, feed my pets, and cover the medical copays I need right now for my psychologist, foot doctor, and primary doctor. For months, I have been donating plasma to make those copays and to care for my pets while I wait for surgery, but it is starting to affect my health, and I’m trying to stop relying on that to survive. <strong>Any help</strong> you can give would mean so much to me as I try to get through this difficult time. If you’re not able to donate, sharing my fundraiser would also be a blessing. When I get through this and get back on my feet, literally and financially, I promise to pass it on and do for others what others have done for me.

<div> Recently, we learned that Lily’s are lethally poisonous to cats but only after suspecting Sashi got into them while we were asleep, suspicion arising from strange erratic breathing and vomiting this morning.

<div>Unfortunately, there is no quick test or treatment so the process requires she be in patient for 48 hours to monitor her kidney levels where the vets can respond accordingly as and if changes occur. The vet warned that this is around a 3500 dollar process at a minimum should she not actually be poisoned—that figure is mostly just for the process of inpatient examination, not treatment. However should she be poisoned and require life saving treatment, the bill is likely to climb much, much higher.

<div>Rather than fully offload the burden to you, were looking for help to cover unpredictable exceeded costs while trying to cover as much as we can on our end with the assumption being the cost will likely be far more than that 3500 mark. Anything helps as this bill will likely set us back by quite a bit should we have to pay for it on our own given our minimal incomes. There is no room donation too small.

The thought of her not being in our lives anymore is among the more unbearable realities either of us have faced in some time.
