<div>Daisy would have been 15 on May 8th; We were together her whole life. Daisy was my emotional support animal—my whole world. When I was cast on MTV’s Real World, Daisy came with me, and the producers, castmates, and anyone who came to know her fell in love with her. They loved her so much that they made her an official castmate. She was a spunky, spicy but sweet, lovable diva who adored food and made everyone fall in love with her.

<div>I adopted Daisy at a very low point in my life, and she honestly saved me. She gave me purpose, taught me about unconditional love, devotion, patience, and kindness, and understood me in ways no one else ever has. I didn’t have a mom or dad, but Daisy showed me I was worthy of love and that I was wanted. She was always there for me—my rock, my safe place, my constant companion. It was just us against the world at times. She was there through all my ups and downs, my hardest seasons and my best days. She made my home feel like home and gave me a reason to keep going when I wanted to quit. She was my friend, my child, my routine, my comfort, my girl. I am so privileged and honored to have had her love and to be her mom. She wasn’t just a dog—she was my world. She softened me and shaped who I am today.

Recently, I faced a serious health challenge when a large mass was discovered on my ovary. I had to undergo surgery to have it removed, and unfortunately, I now need another surgery because of an infection. This has been a difficult and unexpected journey, and it has left me unable to work while I focus on healing and getting back on my feet.

My son recently found himself in a situation that has turned our world upside down. He was hanging out with friends when they decided to pull a prank involving a water bottle and fireworks on their vice principal's front porch. My son was simply with them—he didn't step foot on the property, and he had no issues with anyone involved. Unfortunately, because he was the only one old enough, he's the only one facing serious legal consequences. The other boys lit the firework, but my son is the one in jail. He just graduated and has always dreamed of becoming a firefighter and EMT, dedicating his life to helping others. He's a good kid with a big heart who made the mistake of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Now, he's facing charges for something he didn't do, and our family is desperate to help him. They do have a car, a Ford Escape that has almost 240 thousand miles, does not have working windshield wipers, needs brakes, two tires, there are issues with the transmission and the check engine light is on. The money raised here will go towards a newer model car that they can feel safe and secure in without worry about repairs.

<div>As many of you know, Sam was diagnosed with Stage II Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (Breast Cancer) with lymph node involvement on 5/13/22. The news was devastating for Sam and her young family—Sam and husband Ryan, a St. Charles firefighter, are parents to son James, 10, and daughter Isla, 2—but in true Sam fashion, she kept her chin up and announced the news on Facebook in her frank, lighthearted way:

<div>Unfortunately, after enduring 16 rounds of chemo and a bilateral mastectomy with sentinel node biopsy and reconstruction — during which time (over 6 months) Sam has been unable to work — Sam recently received news that she will need a second unanticipated surgery — a full axillary lymph node dissection to remove ALL nodes in her right arm. After this surgery, Sam will need to do OT and PT to decrease risk of lymphedema and maintain mobility, then move on to approximately 30 rounds of radiation. She will then take Verzenio for two years because she is now considered HIGH RISK for reoccurrence. This medication is associated with extremely high costs even with insurance. Sam will also have monthly injections to keep her ovaries asleep with hormone therapy (chemically induced menopause) for the next 10 years. She will also have to have at a minimum, one more surgery for reconstruction, but the average breast cancer patient ends up having 3-5 reconstruction surgeries.

<div>Sam’s goal is to return to work at least part-time during the radiation phase, but whether and to what extent she will be able to do so remains uncertain.

<div>Thus far, Sam and Ryan have been paying bills on savings that have now been depleted. 100% of funds raised will go towards paying their mortgage, groceries to feed those babies, utilities, current medical debt, future medical debt (co-pays, supplies, medications), diapers, clothes for the kids, preschool for Isla, and sports fees for James. They also have James in counseling and are looking for a therapist for themselves but that has been put on the back burner due to costs.

<div>Russell brought joy and pure happiness to everyone he came in contact with. He begged for the window to be rolled down in the drive-thru to say hi to the workers and he loved running into daycare in his superman cape and mask. No one could resist that sweet, handsome man! Having dance parties with Aubrey, mama and dada in the living room and playing hide and go seek were some of the best of times with sweet Russell.  Every time it was Russell’s turn to hide, he would pop out and tell dada “I’m here!” before he could even start looking.  While our grief is all consuming, our love for our sweet, handsome Russell is eternal.

My sister, Sasha, is...<br />A follower of Christ, single mother to her beautiful 3-year-old Elliana, friend, daughter, sister, girlfriend, grand-daughter, cousin, and niece. All of those that know her know that Sasha is STRONG, simple, sweet, and leaves a sweet aroma wherever she goes. She has been able to conquer many challenges in the past, and all with a positive attitude, perseverance, and an abundance of grace. <br /><br />In early September 2020, Sasha found a lump on her right breast by way of self examination. Later that month she scheduled a mammogram and ultrasound, in which results found another mass next to the one she had already discovered. On October 7th, she went in for a painful biopsy. Two days later she received a call from the nurse informing her that she did, indeed, have breast cancer.<br /><br />During a follow up confirmation diagnoses appointment on October 12th Sasha was officially diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma ER+ and PR +. This means that the hormone receptor positive cancer is using its natural hormones as fuel for growth in the ducts of the breast.<br /><br />Unfortunately on Monday October 19th, the HER2 test came back positive following the IHC and FISH tests which means the recommended treatment is to immediately start chemotherapy prior to undergoing mastectomy.<br /><br />In the next several months Sasha will undergo a surgery for a port, chemotherapy, and a mastectomy, followed by hormone therapy infusions for a year. <br /><br />We are currently waiting on BRCA gene test results....<br /><br />Money raised will go towards medical bills, cold cap (which is not covered by insurance) holistic medicines, freezing eggs (which is also not covered) and other costs that may come up.<br />NOTE: Go fund me takes 2.5% money raised so if you prefer sending donations directly to her Venmo account instead @Sasha-David-1<br /><br />We believe in the power of prayer! Hello! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Beth and Paige is my close friend. Paige and I met 5 years ago when she moved to St. Louis from Hamilton, Illinois. We graduated from Paul Mitchell together and we have been friends ever since. <br /><br />At the beginning of December Paige started experiencing symptoms. Over the course of a couple months the symptoms progressively became worse. After an appointment with a Gastroenterologist a colonoscopy was scheduled. Unfortunately, during the procedure the doctor discovered a large mass. Shortly after this, on January 28th, Paige was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer. Due to the progression and severity of her symptoms, the doctors determined the cancer is aggressive and rapidly growing. <br /><br />After careful consideration, Paige decided to entrust Siteman Cancer Center with her treatment journey. Due to the nature of Paige's condition it became clear that treatment needed to start immediately, therefore Paige has already undergone a handful of procedures. Not even a week after being diagnosed with colorectal cancer Paige was admitted for a laparoscopic colostomy surgery. This was an intrusive surgery that required a four night hospital stay. <br /><br />After discussing the next course of treatment, Paige met with a fertility specialist. Radiation therapy is included in Paige's treatment plan. Due to the treatment area and the high dose of radiation, it will affect her reproductive organs. Therefore, it was decided that due to Paige's young age of 23 it would be in her best interest to retrieve and freeze her eggs so she can have the option of starting a family in the future. Over the course of a couple weeks Paige went through the process of IVF and underwent the procedure to harvest her eggs. <br /><br />Currently Paige is undergoing extensive radiation and will continue on to chemotherapy, which is twelve rounds of treatment over the course of three months. After radiation and chemotherapy Paige will be having inevitable surgery to remove the mass. We have hope, but the outcome of the surgery could potentially leave Paige with life altering changes. <br /><br />Paige works in the restaurant industry and is also in the paralegal program at Meremac Community College. As one could imagine these surgeries and procedures are time consuming and take a serious mental and physical toll on an individual. Some of the procedures, such as IVF are costly and are not covered by private insurances. In addition, Paige has had to take a significant amount of time off work already, and will continue to have to do so. Unfortunately, Paige does not receive paid time off or sick leave. <br /><br />As her friend, I want to do something to help Paige out. If I could I would cure her cancer myself, but much to my dismay that is not an option. Paige has remained optimistic and strong since the beginning of this diagnosis, but it has been life altering and extremely stressful to say the least. I want to reach out to anyone who could potentially help Paige with the financial burden this cancer has brought into her life. Any contribution big or small is greatly appreciated. Support Paige Kicking Cancer's Butt

On Friday, February 15th, our roommate &amp; best friend, Olivia Welch, was a victim of a hit and run accident as she was walking across Speedway Blvd near Cherry Ave.<br /><br />Immediately following the accident Olivia was left in the street knocked unconscious where first responders thought she may have not survived the impact. There were no direct witnesses and the police haven’t had success reviewing nearby cameras.<br /><br />As of today, on February 21st, Olivia remains at Banner Hospital in the ICU under heavy sedation awaiting surgery on her broken pelvis. In addition to her damaged pelvis, Olivia has suffered from brain bleeding, high ICP levels, a cracked cheek bone, a broken right arm and right knee. Olivia has another 3 weeks in the ICU and multiple weeks of rehabilitation post-surgery.<br /><br />Overall, her brain activity appears to be stable and she has been responsive when sedation is reduced with a thumbs up or peace sign. However, she remains on a breathing machine. Everyday has been a roller coaster for her family and close friends as her body copes with the damage she suffered and as new injuries are discovered.<br /><br />We are raising money so Olivia can get the treatment she needs to fully recover. <br /><br />Her brother, Johnny Welch, will be managing the funds raised on Olivia’s behalf and at the direction of his family.<br /><br />Thank you,<br />Hannah, Nikkie, Sophia

Olivia Welchs Medical Treatment and Care

I was hesitant about doing this. I’m not typically the person to ask for help like this... but with the persuasion of my friends and family here I am.... <br /><br />A lot of you know a bit about my story.<br /><br />In 2014 I had a horribly botched breast surgery.  I’ve had to undergo 15 surgeries in total over the past 5 years. With each surgery and each complication I felt more and more heartbroken and more hopeless.  I’ve gone through a whirlwind of emotional and physical pain (something I’m continually dealing with) I’ve Missed out on a lot of opportunities, work, <br />competitions &amp; spent money I didn’t have, All trying to correct what that first doctor did to my body. I ended up having to have everything removed including much of my breast tissue. <br /><br />About a year ago I had a mass suddenly develop in my left breast as a result of a fibrous capsule that was left in my chest  &amp; that had to be removed and tested (thank God I was ok there). I had this surgery just two weeks before I started the fire academy. It left me in a lot of pain. With that mass having been in there so long, it started to form scar tissue and basically adhering to my muscles pulling everything forward from my back/shoulders... pulling my ribs out of place. My shoulders were crooked... it was affecting my breathing. I had to see a chiropractor weekly to try and work out the issues and manage the pain in order to be able to make it through and graduate fire recruit school( thank you Dr. Chad)<br />I still see him almost weekly.<br /><br />I have indentions in my chest where my breasts should be &amp; horrible scarring. I’ve gotten very good at hiding it from the world. But the truth is... it is something that affects me everyday... Heavily padding my bras/swimsuits... avoiding a lot of clothing altogether, hating my own reflection. I feel like I lost a part of my femininity, which only adds to the fact that I’m a female in the military and firefighter. <br /><br />Although reopening this is bringing back all of the painful memories, I know that in the long run, having this fixed will bring so much happiness and confidence back into my life.<br /><br />I had to put this all on hold for a while to focus on my life &amp; career &amp; just allow myself to heal emotionally from it all, But, I have now found a Dr who I trust will be able to fix this and relieve me of the emotional and physical pain I’ve been enduring. <br /><br />Unfortunately, these surgeries (2 surgeries, 8 months apart) are expensive due to the fact that many of the necessary surgical materials are what would typically be used for mastectomy patients.<br /><br />These procedures are no longer cosmetic, they’re reconstructive and deemed necessary by a Dr, which a lot of insurance companies will cover. Unfortunately, due to the fact that this is ultimately the result of an elective surgery, Tricare will not cover it. <br /><br />If you could find it in your heart to contribute and help me to finally move on from this nightmare...<br /><br />I will Be forever grateful.<br /><br />Mahalo &amp; Much love to all of you❤️

JODI’s journey to healing ❤️

This story begins in 2014 when John was going in for a physical so he could go to Many Point with his younger son. Upon his return from Many Point, his doctor wanted him to come in for additional testing because according to the blood level readings, he should be basically passed out. Of course he wasn't, he was running his lawn service. Approximately two weeks later, he needed a double blood transfusion.  Fast forward to 2016. His lawn service had been cut down drastically. In the height of his business, he had 65 customers, which dropped to 10. It was all he could handle. The last time he could work was November 2016. His lawn service is now closed down.  Fast forward to winter 2017/2018. From his lawn service days to current, he has lost over 75 pounds! He is currently working on getting on the liver transplant list. He did the battery of tests and meeting with the surgical team in December. He is near the end of meeting the different doctors that he needs to consult with before he has the 100% ok to be put on the transplant list. The hard part is, currently he is too frail for surgery, but he is working on getting healthier so he can have surgery should there be a live donor that is compatable or getting on the list for a deceased donor. Right now, the first goal will be to pay for the weekly hospital stays with meeting our deductible. Once we can get that met, we will start working on the other monthly obligations that are falling behind. Asking for help has always been difficult and asking financially for help is even more so. I have already picked up a part time job to help cover the loss while still having a full time. However in saying that and in light of how things are currently going, we are asking for any help possible. Anything would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

John's liver transplant

On Chirstmas Morning Libby and Greg Powers received news that every parent never wants to hear. Their son Auggie was diagnosed with Leukemia. Still many questions remain unanswered. However as a parent to 2 young children myself, someone who sits next to Greg at work, we share stories about our kids all the time, this news really hit home. The Powers family will need all of our prayers and positive energy through this difficult time. <br /><br />As we all may know, this will be hard for Greg and Libby to work. When they are working Auggie will be on their mind making it even harder on them. I would like to raise some money for the Powers family to help pay bills and medical expenses, these first few months are the most crucial. Auggie is going to feed off of Greg and Libby's energy, with his parents knowing they do not have to worry about any bills at the present time, it will provide them the energy they need while making their lives easier to focus on Auggie's health. <br /><br />No donation is too small, we will keep you updated as Auggie beats this terrible disease. <br /><br />#AuggieSuperPowers

<strong>On October 6, 2015</strong> <strong>our daughter</strong> <strong>Anna went into septic shock from a kidney infection, and was  in a medically induced coma in the ICU in Denver, CO for 2 weeks.  She then was transfered to another hospital where she underwent Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and multiple surgeries for treatment  of her necrotic hands and feet due to the Sepsis.  After spending 6 more weeks in the hospital and going through intensive therapy, the outcome was that she had to have 9 fingers partially amputated, all the toes on her right foot and all of her foot to the heel on her left.<br /><br />Anna is home now and in a wheelchair.  The pain has been intense both physically and emotionally, but she is a strong, brave and couragous woman. We are really thankful that John and Anna have a great support system of friends and family who have continued to give and help out generously. <br /><br />In the next few weeks she will be getting fitted for prosthetics on both feet and hopefully hands. However, her hand prosthetics may not be covered by her insurance because she has partial fingers. All of this as you know is very costly- along with the surgeons and rehab costs. <br /><br />Please consider giving to this fund as a way to help her take care of her family during this critical time as she has long road to recovery.
