We're reaching out to share the story of EZ, affectionately known as the Sign Guy of St. Petersburg, Florida, and his beloved wife, Kim. You might know EZ for his magnetic presence and his heartwarming signs scattered across our community, spreading messages of <strong>Kindness, Prayer, Love, Faith,</strong> and <strong>Smile</strong>.</div><div><br></div><div>Unfortunately, life has taken a challenging turn for EZ and Kim. Recently, EZ was admitted to the VA Hospital due to severe kidney and liver complications. His condition is critical, marked by high ammonia levels, causing confusion and disorientation. While he bravely waits on the transplant list, the possibility of dialysis looms over him. The doctors have expressed urgency, indicating that without effective treatment, we might lose EZ in a month.</div><div><br></div><div>Kim, EZ's partner for 35 years, is a warrior in her own right. Having just completed a grueling two-month regime of Chemotherapy and Radiation, her resilience shines through. Together, they have kept their small Sign Shop afloat, with EZ as the creative force and Kim as his steadfast support. Now, with EZ hospitalized, they are facing an unprecedented financial strain.</div><div><br></div><div>Today, we humbly ask for your support. This necessitated Emergency vet services to the tune of over $3300. The good news is that her cherished companion was saved but the bad news is that is a LOT of moola.

My friend's husband Shane Collins died tragically in a car accident. Shane was a wonderful husband to Layla and father to Natalie and Cassidy . Layla is devastated and lost without Shane. They had no life insurance and need help to pay for expenses associated with his death. As well as life right now. Shane and Layla's house is currently under construction and now with Shane gone Layla will need help. Thank you for your support.

Hi every one, My name is Ana Morales, Jose Amaya was my cousin and he dissapered on June 28, 2015.  He studied at Homestead Job Corporation.   He asked permission at the school to go buy  some food, but he never returned.  At 6.00 pm his parents received a call from school and they reported to the police but the police could not do anything until after 72 hours.  His family didn't wait and they decided to look for him.    Days of desesperation and without rest, no answers and no help, nobody knew about him.  After two nights of looking, on Wednesday July 01, 2015 the family without the police, decided to go around the school and look for him (a very dark area).  His brothers noticed behind the school there was a burned area and they took a closer look.  There, they found two feet.   They contacted the police.   At midnight, the police arrived and the body was discovered and removed.  The body was unrecognizible and decomposed.  His brothers could not resist to see the body.  They were crazy with grief  hoping it was not Jose.  They did not tell his parents about this.  But on Thursday evening the police  informed the family that it was Jose's body, my cousin.   We are in disbelief, his mother is in shock.<br />Today, early morning, the agents reveled that was it was a CRIME.     He was raped, had many stab wounds, and was still alive when buried.  He was 17 years old, he could not defend himself.      A crime is bad, but what Jose suffered was horrible.  <br />Jose was a peaceful young man and he was fun with his friends.  Some thought he was 'antisocial' but he was shy.  During the weekends Jose worked at the Flea Market selling ice cream to help his family.<br />We have to afront this situation  and pray for his soul, and for the one or those who committed this crime. <br />My intention is to help his parents with the costs of the funeral.  They are people that came to this country for a better way of life and they have been working hard but they can not afford all the expenses.    A funeral is expensive and especially when it takes you by surpreise. No donation is too small, a penny, a dollar, will be a great help to them.    We do not know what happen, but this can happen to your brothers, sisters, or any member of your family.   Please, help us.   God bless you and thanks for reading this.

<div>My name is Alayne and Blanca Maricela Hernández is a client of our Partners in Well-Being project and now a friend. Blanca, a Guatemalan farmworker and single mother to an 7 year old boy, is the most resilient person I know.

<div>On September 2025, the ongoing nausea and pain in her head and throughout her body overwhelmed her and she finally went to the ER in Riverview FL. Having been misdiagnosed for years as gastritis and other things, the medical staff soon realized she had a brain tumor.

<div>Blanca was finally released from the hospital in November and she has been recovering from this tumor, learned to walk again and regained her speech, which had been affected by the tumor. However she has a long way to go and this will be expensive.
</div>

</div>
<div>While the surgery was a complete success in terms of removing what turned out to be a tumor the size of an orange, Blanca's left eye was left paralyzed from the surgery. We are trying to save this eye now. She has double vision and the eye is swollen so it is impossibly painful for her to close the eye, which is subject to infection. She just got a prescription for eye salve to lessen her ongoing pain.

<div>Blanca's insurance does not cover therapies, transportation or some of these medications. Further she may need surgery.

<div>Despite impaired vision, Blanca has been trying to work in the fields. She is not fully recovered from the tumor yet either so we need to help her afford her rent and food for her small family while she recovers. She would never ask for help so this is why I have created this GFM.

<div>Blanca needs to pay bills that she has incurred over the past five months of hospitalization and recovery in the amount of $1500.

<div>She also needs help with her rent and food for the next few months so she can focus on her recovery and not farmwork (which we know is high-risk and filled with carcinogenic chemicals).

<div>En noviembre el hospital le dio de alta y Blanca ha estado recuperando su capacidad de caminar, hablar y regresar a una vida más normal. Pero el tumor la dejó con otros problemas. Blanca todavía tiene problemas de la vista y lastimosamente el

<div>ojo está muy hinchado y dañado. Ahora estoy llevándola a citas médicas para salvar a su oyó en el Instituto del Ojo en la USF.

<div>En fin, la cirugía fue todo un éxito en que pudieron sacar todo el tumor que midió como una naranja, pero su ojo izquierdo quedó paralizado por la cirugía y dejó que tiene vista doble. Ahora estamos tratando de salvar este ojo cual acaban de descubrir está muy hinchado y por eso no cierre, es muy doloroso y hay alta probabilidad de infección. Así que necesitará bastante tiempo y quizás otros tipos de intervenciones para poder recuperar la vista. Ahora le dieron recetas para medicinas especiales para el ojo.

<div>el seguro que tiene Blanca no cubre sus terapias, transporte a las citas médicas en Tampa o algunos medicamentos. Como tampoco sabemos todavía si va a necesitar cirugía en el ojo.

<div>A pesar de que Blanca tiene la vista doble y borrosa, ha estado buscando trabajo en el campo. Todavia se está sanando del tumor y necesita ayuda con la renta, comida para ella y su hijo mientras recupere.

<div>No es solo eso pero Blanca también tiene que pagar unas deudas de los últimos 5 meses de estar en el hospital y su recuperación, lo cual es alrededor de $1500.
