From a Warm Home to a Cold Tent Help My Family Survive in Gaza My name is Ahmed. I currently live in Canada, but my entire family is still in Gaza. The house in the first photo was our home. It wasn’t luxurious, but it was safe. It was where my family slept peacefully, gathered together, and dreamed of a future. In a single moment, everything changed. One airstrike was enough to completely destroy our home. Nothing was left standing. Years of memories were reduced to rubble. My family didn’t just lose a house they lost their sense of safety. After the destruction, my family had nowhere to go. No safe shelter. No secure place. Displacement was not a choice. It was forced upon them. Today, my family is living in a small tent. This is not a temporary solution. This tent is their home now. No walls. No heating. No protection from rain or cold. The children sleep on the ground. The cold wakes them up at night. When it rains, water leaks inside the tent. My mother tries to stay strong for them, but she cries silently, fearing for her children. The hardest part for me is being far away unable to protect them. Winter nights in Gaza are extremely cold. Every day without help makes their situation harder. These photos and videos are not shared to seek pity. They show the reality my family is living every day. They are only trying to survive with dignity. That is why I created this campaign.
