Story Let’s Save Hawa’s Life and Future Urgent Help for Life-Saving Scoliosis Surgery – Prevent Permanent Paralysis Hello, I am currently living in Austria, and I created this campaign on behalf of an Afghan girl named Hawa. Hawa is an Afghan asylum seeker—alone, vulnerable, and living for years with pain that no human being should have to endure. She suffers from severe scoliosis and kyphosis, a dangerous spinal deformity that places extreme pressure on her entire body. The curvature of Hawa’s spine has reached approximately 120 degrees—a critically severe condition that compresses her chest and significantly restricts her lungs. As a result, she experiences severe shortness of breath, and even the slightest movement makes breathing difficult. Sitting, standing, and walking cause her constant pain. But the pain is not only physical— it is the pain of living every day with the fear of paralysis or even losing her life. Doctors have clearly warned that without urgent specialized spinal surgery, Hawa faces a very high risk of spinal cord damage, permanent paralysis, and life-threatening pressure on her heart and lungs. The only way to save her life is immediate spinal surgery with the implantation of metal rods. Hawa lives under extremely difficult asylum conditions. She has no family support, no guardian, and no income. Due to her severe pain and breathing difficulties, she was forced to give up her education. Despite all this suffering, Hawa never gave up. She worked, struggled, and helped others whenever she could—even when she herself needed help the most. She had dreams: to live a normal life, to walk without pain, and to breathe without fear. With an exhausted body and breath that barely comes easily, she continues to fight. And today, despite everything, she still holds on to the hope of standing on her feet again. She still dreams of one day walking without pain and starting life anew. I am doing everything I can to support her, but the truth is that the total cost of Hawa’s treatment, surgery, and post-operative care is approximately €130,000—an amount impossible for us to raise without your help. This amount covers: ●-Specialized scoliosis surgery ●-Metal rods ●-Hospitalization ●-Medical travel and visa ●-Accommodation and post-operative nursing ●-Medication, ●-physiotherapy, and follow-up care This campaign is not just about raising money. It is about giving Hawa a chance to live without fear of paralysis or suffocation— to breathe freely again, move without pain, and imagine a future on her own two feet. Transparency: All donations will be used exclusively to save Hawa’s life and support her treatment. Even the smallest contribution can be the difference between continued suffering and a new beginning. If you cannot donate, please share her story. Silence is Hawa’s greatest enemy. Hawa is not ready to give up. She still has dreams— and she is only asking for one chance to heal. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading Hawa’s story and standing with us in saving her life ❤️
