At just 23 years old, disabled twin brother and sister (let's call them R&R) have already endured more hardship than most people face in a lifetime. Born with a rare variation of cerebral palsy, R&R relied heavily on the unwavering love and devotion of their mother, who dedicated her life to protecting and caring for them. Their father, Stephen Murray, played little meaningful role in their upbringing during their childhood years. Tragically, the twins’ mother later developed serious complications from a rare medical condition and passed away far too soon. Despite her illness, she had carefully planned for her children’s future, leaving behind a substantial inheritance intended to ensure that the R&R, along with her older son from a previous relationship, would live safely and comfortably after her death. Following her passing, Stephen Murray asserted his parental rights and became the twins’ legal guardian. Within months, he moved his new partner, Corinthia Ponponne, into the family home along with her young son. Together, they created a new family environment around the vulnerable twins, and later had another child together. Now, devastating allegations have emerged. The twins have disclosed years of sexual abuse at the hands of their father, with the female twin suffering particularly serious abuse. They have also revealed that both Stephen Murray and Corinthia Ponponne allegedly spent the inheritance their late mother had worked so hard to secure for them. In addition, there is deeply concerning evidence suggesting Corinthia physically, emotionally, and psychologically abused the twins during their time in the household, with the more serious physical abuse violating Article 3 of The Human Rights Act, that deals with torture and forced confessions. Today, these young adults have escaped that environment and are trying to rebuild their lives independently. They left with very little. They are vulnerable, traumatised, and struggling financially while attempting to create a safe and stable future for themselves. As a community, we cannot ignore their suffering. These twins deserve dignity, security, and the chance to finally experience peace after years of pain and exploitation. Funds raised through this appeal will help them secure essential furniture, household items, daily living necessities, and the support they need to begin again. Corinthia Ponponne on her own spent over £16,000 from just one twin. We would like to raise over that amount as some form of recompense. Every donation, no matter the amount, will help give these young people the fresh start their mother always wanted for them. Please give generously and help us stand beside two vulnerable survivors as they begin the long journey toward healing and independence. ALL FUNDS GO DIRECTLY TO THE TWINS!
