Koda is our 10-year-old German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix, and he’s been our loyal companion through thick and thin. We rescued him from the humane society years ago, and since then, he’s become our family. The humane society told us it would be unlikely for someone to adopt him because of a chronic issue with his private part not going all the way in, so my wife and I took him home. The vet at the humane society tried correcting his private part with surgery but was unsuccessful, so we have to put triple antibiotic ointment or Vaseline on daily. With this change, we feel it has become infected, and we’re not sure what to do. After getting hurt at work and suffering three pulmonary embolisms, we lost our home and were forced to stay in our van with Koda. I am now waiting for work comp to settle my case so I can go back to work and get a small pet-friendly apartment. We have the opportunity to stay with family, but no dogs are allowed, so we choose to stay in the van with him until things improve. This new way of living has been especially hard on Koda. He has developed a bad cough and has trouble breathing, and we are afraid if we don’t get him to a vet soon, he will get worse. If it is pneumonia, we hope to treat him as fast as we can. Despite everything, Koda continues to support us. On our hardest days, he always seems to know when we need comfort. Now, living in our van, he stays alert at night, protecting us and letting us know if anyone is nearby. He truly is the best companion we could ask for. Our main concern is making sure Koda gets the care he needs, even as our van faces mechanical issues and our situation remains uncertain. Any support you can offer will go directly to his veterinary care and well-being. Thank you for helping us through this difficult time https://gofund.me/86fce8491 https://gofund.me/86fce8491
