The report shows a subdural hygroma, meaning a collection of cerebrospinal fluid beneath the outer covering of the brain, measuring approximately 8 mm. It also identified areas of concern in the left temporal and left parieto-occipital regions of the brain, described as suggestive of encephalomalacia (damage/softening of brain tissue). There are some reassuring findings in the report, including no midline shift and no space-occupying lesion. However, these findings require urgent specialist follow-up, and further evaluation such as an MRI may be needed to understand the extent of the changes and determine the appropriate treatment and care. As parents, receiving this news has been devastating. We are doing everything we can to get our child the medical care and specialized evaluation needed.
