For the past nine years, I stayed in a relationship hoping for love and stability, but as my children grew older, I realized I couldn't let them witness the cycle of abuse. It took all my courage to finally say enough is enough and walk away, determined to protect myself and my three children. I refuse to be a victim any longer, and I want to show my kids what strength and hope look like, even when things feel impossible. Leaving has been more stressful than I could have ever imagined. I've always been a hard worker, but after having my baby 11 months ago, I haven't been able to work. My husband promised everything would be okay until I returned to work, but now that I'm on my own, I'm struggling to pay rent and keep us safe. This fundraiser will help me cover one more month of rent, give me a little breathing room, and allow me to accept a new job so I can support my family without having to rely on him. Most importantly, it will help me keep him away so I can protect myself and my children from harm. I wish people knew how much courage it takes to walk away from everything I've known for the past nine years. Without family to turn to, I often feel like I have nothing left—but I know I have my three babies, and they need me more than ever. I can't let them down.
