I just want to take a moment to address something that has been weighing on me. I truly appreciate the people who haven’t made this situation “weird.” I know that what is going on in our lives is scary, and at times, probably a lot to take in. We understand that. What has been harder to understand is watching some of the people closest to us—people who are supposed to be our friends—retreat, become awkward, or treat Connor differently. Making him feel less than, whether intentionally or not, has been really difficult to watch. So, to the people who have continued to show up, check in, love us, and treat Connor exactly the same as you always have: thank you. Thank you for being real. Thank you for holding it down for us. Thank you for not letting an illness or a difficult situation change the way you see him. Because no matter what he looks like, no matter how he sounds, or how much he may have changed while he recovers, he is still our Connor. He’s still Mr. Poland. ❤️ And we will never forget the people who have made sure he feels that way.
Connor had his surgery yesterday, and we are so incredibly thankful to say that he did very well! ❤️ The doctors said the procedure went well and are confident that they were able to remove most, if not all, of the tumor. They are also confident that it is a low-grade tumor and have sent it out for genetic testing so we can learn more. Most likely the next steps will be chemo after about 4 weeks of recovery. So far, Connor has had no post-op complications, which we are incredibly grateful for. He is having more difficulty finding his words than he normally does, but the doctors prepared us for this and said that it may get worse before it gets better. Connor was taken off the critical list and will be moving to the step-down unit later today! ❤️ We know the road ahead will be long and recovery will be slow, but he is already making so much progress, and we couldn’t be more proud of him. We are completely overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, prayers, messages, and support we have received. There truly are no words to express how grateful we are for every person who has thought of Connor and our family during this time. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. ❤️
Support for Connor Poland My name is Liz and this is uncomfortable for my family but we are in a crazy situation. We have not publicly talked about Connor’s health issues but now I feel I need to share.   My husband Connor Poland is facing a life-changing medical battle, and I am creating this fundraiser on his behalf as our family prepares for the difficult road ahead. After a CT scan showed an abnormality, an MRI revealed two lesions on Connor’s brain. One is very small and located near the cerebellum, while the other is a 1 inch by 1 inch mass on his left frontal lobe. This larger mass has been causing speech problems, brain fog, fluid leakage, and pressure in his head. Connor was admitted to the Neuro ICU and has since been taken off the critical list, but he is now preparing for an open craniotomy for a biopsy and possible removal of the mass on September 8th 2026. Doctors are still working to determine whether it is malignant or benign, and the outcome of the biopsy will help guide the next steps in treatment. This is a major surgery, and Connor’s recovery is expected to take 4 to 6 weeks. During that time, both medical and everyday costs will continue to build, especially with two small children at home and both Connor and I working full time to support our family. Donations will help ease the burden of medical bills, child living expenses, and travel related to Connor’s surgery and recovery. Any support, no matter the size, would mean so much to us and our children during this time of need. We are staying strong and facing this together, and we are deeply grateful for every prayer, kind word, and act of generosity.  My family is everything to me. I am grateful for this life. I am grateful for the blessings we have received.
