<div>Back in February, Maddie discovered a lump in her abdomen. Because of the frustrating gaps in our healthcare system, we still don’t have clear answers about what exactly it is. Here’s what we do know:

<div>There’s a complex mass over 9 centimeters in size that will need to be surgically removed and biopsied to determine next steps and any potential further treatment.  She hasn’t been able to work for nearly a week due to pain, nausea, and dizziness—and she won’t be able to speak with an oncologist until July 15th. In the meantime, the bills are starting to pile up.

<div>Maddie is one of my oldest friends, the mother of our child, and someone who has shown up for me through every season of life since we first met as wide-eyed young people in San Francisco all those years ago. I know she’s been there for many of you, too. Now she needs us.

Since then, he has been trying hard to make ends meet for himself and his kiddo 10 yo Agnes. This last November and December, Ryan was hit with work injuries then persistent illness, and then lost his job.

Help Holly fight breast cancer

<div>Our dear friend Andrea is truly a good human being. She is positive and loving to the core, spending her life taking care of her family and others. She never asks for a thing, she shows amazing strength even when life has become unbearable.

<div>Over the last couple of years, she has been helping her only daughter, Tyrae, through cancer treatments; a hardship for any parent to see their child go through.
</div>
<div>Just a few weeks ago the unthinkable happened. Her husband Gregory has been diagnosed with advanced-stage cancer. At the same time, her daughter has been placed back in the hospital.

<div>With only Andrea’s income from her hard work as the night custodian at Manor School, bills and expenses have been piling up. We hope to help fill the gap from missed days of work from taking her loved ones to doctors appointments and treatments and the hardship of losing Gregory’s income.

<div>She needs to be by her husband and daughter's side rather than stressing over bills and expenses. She is trying her best to be strong, not only for Gregory and Tyrae, but also for her only grandson, Takeo as well.

<div>The unimaginable has happened to our dear friend Andrea.  Her daughter Tyrae and her husband Gregory both passed away last week.  We feel it is urgent to raise the goal to help cover not only funeral costs but also to support her grandson Takeo, her housing and various medical bills.  We do not want her to worry about money at this time in her life.
