Joshua McFarland is a devoted friend and a caring guardian who has always put others before himself. Four months ago, Joshua received the devastating news that he has lung cancer. Despite having beaten cancer in his leg nine years ago, this new diagnosis has brought overwhelming challenges. The cost of chemotherapy, prescriptions, and ongoing medical care has quickly become unmanageable, and Joshua has lost his home as a result. He now sleeps in his car, facing each day with a strength that inspires those around him, even as he struggles with his health. For over four years, Joshua cared for his girlfriend’s six children, providing them with love and stability when they needed it most. Now, with his health declining and his home lost, the children are living with their oldest sister, who is doing her best but is overwhelmed.
