I am Brian, an animal lover and saver. Today, I stumbled across this poor old girl who appeared out of the woods - in the middle of nowhere - near a village where I've been caring for homeless paws for over 10 years. Yet, I've never seen her here before.
She's in rough shape: severe mange, another skin infection that looks fungal or bacterial, and a deep, nasty wound at the base of her tail; old, oozing, and crawling with maggots. Her eyes are full of the typical pus often seen if the dogs fight infections...
I gave her immediate first aid: anti-inflammatories, a quarter of a Nexgard Spectra (recently donated by the kind Ruth K., thank you!), and treated the tail wound with my trusted herbal copper powder.
I also noticed a worrying growth near her mouth; it could be from an infected tooth, or worse, a tumor...
The real challenge now will be adding her to my family of 3 dogs. Having to feed all of them plus provide a place for them to sleep comfortably will be a big issue for me since I am not employed.
I would appreciate you all who would come through for me and my dogs. I really look forward to housing even more.
