Hi everyone, my name is SHAMS ALGALBAN, and I’m organizing this campaign on behalf of my friend Yasmine (27).
This campaign originally began as support for Yasmine and her family during the genocide in Gaza. Thanks to the generosity of few, she was able to meet urgent needs and keep her family fed through incredibly difficult months. Today, Yasmine has chosen to turn this campaign into something greater, something that will enrich her entire community.
Yasmine is a mother, a teacher at heart, and someone deeply committed to the children around her. Despite displacement and loss, she has worked tirelessly to support kids in her neighborhood who have gone months without access to school. Together, we are transforming this fundraiser into the Abu Shiha School for Excellence, a free learning tent for children in Deir Al Balah.
With schools destroyed, many children have lost their routines, their classrooms, their supplies and the sense of normalcy that learning provides. This project aims to give them a safe and structured place to read, write, learn, and simply be children again.
What the school provides:
• Basic classes in reading, writing, and math
• Creative and emotional-support activities
• A consistent, safe environment during the day
• Free access for all displaced children in the area
• A space that is run with love and care by Yasmine and local volunteers
What your support will cover:
• A durable tent structure and setup
• Mats, small chairs, and tables
• Notebooks, pencils, and workbooks
• Whiteboards and educational posters
• Snacks and water for children
• Ongoing supply replenishment and maintenance
Your support directly sustains this space and allows it to grow. Even small contributions have an immediate impact on children who have lost so much.
Thank you for standing with Yasmine, with this community, and with the children of Gaza.
Education is dignity.
