Hey everyone, I wanted to start this up for Amber because she has been like a mom to me for years. She's an amazing person who'll drop everything to make sure the people around her are happy, and she's going through a really tough time right now. Every little thing helps in a time of need! Read below if you aren't aware of the situation: On September 11th, Amber went to Comanche County Memorial Hospital because her left leg was purple, and she was in extreme pain. Soon after, she was admitted because she had blood clots all over her lungs and a large blood clot in her upper thigh on her left leg (DVT). They put her on blood thinners and placed an IVC filter to catch the clot if it dislodges from her leg. She was there for a week with terrible bedside manner, and no one would listen to her when she kept saying there was something else wrong. She was sent home on Eliquis along with multiple narcotics for pain. She could barely walk and felt as if the clot had moved up, so within 2 days of being home, she went back to the hospital but went to the University of Oklahoma where she was almost immediately readmitted. They ran tests and found multiple more blood clots. She had one in each arm, two in her right leg, and two in her left leg, with the biggest one in her iliac artery in her left leg. Every appendage had a blood clot in it. Her body had rejected the blood thinner the other hospital prescribed, so she was put on Lovenox. The shots helped quite a bit for the ones in her arms and right leg, but the large clot in her left artery wasn't getting any better. They sent her home again after being admitted for about 3 weeks and told her she would be wheelchair-bound while the clot in her leg heals. She was home for about a week and went back to the hospital because she had no circulation to her foot in her left leg with extreme pain and nausea. She was again admitted, and they did a procedure called a Thrombectomy to remove the clot. While doing the procedure, they realized she had May-Thurner Syndrome, which is a condition where the right iliac artery compresses the left iliac vein, obstructing blood flow from the left leg. They placed a stent, and she is now in recovery but is undergoing more tests because they believe the stent may have moved. She unfortunately lives a total of 3 hours away from the hospital, so the cost of going back and forth for family is expensive. The hospital bill is already half a million dollars, and they want her to go home with home health nursing, but that's another $3,300 that they don't have. Her poor family is really struggling to stay afloat during all of this. Truly, anything helps, and if you can donate to help my family get back on their feet, it would be a true blessing. Thank you and God bless.
